Is there a signature there in that space? either hand print or cursive, it would be hand print in Jamaica

Either Honrable Straw or Morrisson should have signed the divorce creed. The signature on this doc, is a computer typed signature. That is the problem, it should have a hand print signature with date. Call the lawyer and ask for a signed div creed.

Also, the NVC is just trying to confirm that you will have the acceptable documents for your interview. But you can sometimes convince them to close your case and schedule an interview on the premise that you will obtain the correct document before you attend an interview. The visa can't be approved until acceptable documents are presented to the embassy/consulate so really it's ultimately the embassy's call on what they will accept, and the NVC doesn't really have to be sitting on your case waiting for you to send them the right document. I know two people who did this filing through Central American embassies, they actually got an interview scheduled without police certificates because that stage was taking too long. They obtained the necessary documents during the wait between case closing at the NVC and the IV interview, presented the correct documents at the interview, and all went along fine from there. You may have to mail the NVC a letter stating your husband's intention to have the correctly-signed original divorce degree at his interview in order to comply with visa requirements, but that right now you want them to close your case based on the fact that all other necessary documents have been submitted and are ready for the interview. This tiny glitch should not be cause to have your case continually held up at the NVC. You obviously have a copy of the divorce decree and just need to get one signed by the proper authority.

Long story short, we have a complicated case. We've been at this for nearly 5 years. You can read our story here. I highly recommend our attorney Laurel Scott, as well as attorneys Laura Fernandez and Lizz Cannon .

Filed I-130 via CSC in Feb 2008. Petition approved June 2008. Consular interview in Mexico, Oct 2008, visa denied, INA 212a6cii. We allege improper application of the law in this case.

2012, started over in Seoul: I-130 filed DCF on 7/2, I-130 approved 8/8, Medical at Yonsei Severance 11/20, IR1 appointment in November 2012.

CRBA filed 1-3-13 at Seoul for our daughter

The divorce decree with the typed signature is prepared BEFORE the divorce hearing. The moment the divorce is granted by the judge, the judge picks up a pen, and SIGNS over this typed signature. The document is registered, filed, and all is done.

Then YOU ask for an original certified copy of whatever is presented. What you have is the unsigned copy - PRIOR to the judge signing, proving divorce was granted.

They take no pleasure in holding up families as it's not personal to them. While I understand that you are naturally upset - being hysterical is not going to help. this is a hiccup. I cannot believe you would give up so easily. We went through a similar situation and were denied the first time through. Cry, get over it, then refile if he really means that much to you.

STOP STOp STOP

I know somone who just got div in Jamaica and they are here in the USA now on a spouse visa, I am going to contact her, and ask her what did her spouse div creed look like. You need to give me 24 hours, I am here in Jamaica right now, so will be contacting them by email.

This is not a major showstopper, it can get resolved.

Is this lawyer in Jamaica that you'll are dealing with? He probably isn't even a lawyer, just a paralegal aid.

There has to have been a signature signed document inorder for this div to be di-solved.

This is not a problem that NVc created, it is a problem that the courts in Jamaica has created. They know that the div creed must be signed by the judge who granted the div inorder for the marriage to be dis-solved. Court systems in JA are very sloppy,

OK I understand in Jamaica $10,000 for atty to do smething is dirt cheap, where is fiance in JA now? did his exwife get div, can he get it from her, and was the ORIGINAL signed by the judge? I dont think this is that complicated to be resolved, some leg work is needed in Kingston, dont tear your hair out or give up U say U love him

When I sent my divorce decree, I made sure it was the Final decree, which listed everything that was divided from the marriage. I went to the courthouse and they gave me a certified copy, the court clerk stamped it and it was signed at the bottom as a true attestion. I hope everything works out for you.
