As part of the process of getting and immigrant visa for my son an interview at any Applicant Service Centers (ASCs) in Mexico needs to be setup prior to the interview at the consulate in Juarez.

What is actually done at that interview at the ASC? We are traveling to the US at the end of the year and he currently has a non-immigrant visa (Tourist).

Is his visa retained at that interview or is only to take pictures and fingerprints again? Anybody know.?

Can he still travel to the US with his non-immigrant visa before the interview at the consulate in Juarez.

Also after that ASC interview how long does it take to schedule the interview with the consulate in Juarez?

Thanks in advance.

What documents does my fiancé need to take to the ASC appointment? I have been looking every where and even called but I have no clear answer. Do I take the DS-260 confirmation or the DS-156 or both? DO i take the interview letter sent by the consulate? Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANK YOU!

You are only required to take what is on the ASC letter. In our case, it is the appointment letter, and photo identification (passport, green card, driver's license)

We arrived 15 minutes prior to interview. They require you to turn your phone off while inside the ASC. We waited 15 minutes, our number was called and the process took 3 minutes. They took a photo and fingerprints and we were out. Now we wait for the continuation of the process...either interview or issuance of the 10-year green card.
