Hello all,

I filed I-129F for my fiancee in April 5th, 2012 and received my first Notice of Action on April 11th, 2012. (Receipt Date: April 10, 2012)

I received the 2nd Notice of Action on July 27th, 2012 (Notice Date: July 23rd, 2012)

Notice Type: Approval Notice

Valid from 07/21/2012 to 11/20/2012

Can anyone tell me why my Approval Notice has the expiration date of 11/20/2012?

I called the National Visa Center 2 weeks after I received the 2nd NOA, and they told me they sent my approved I-129F petition for fiancee to the US consulate in Hochiminh City, Vietnam on July 31st, 2012. However, until now (2 months had passed since the time they told me they sent my approved petition to Vietnam) my fiancee still hasn't received any package from the consulate. What should I do now? Do I need to call the NVC again and ask what's going on?

Thank you!

The expiration date is nothing you need to be concerned with, if an interview has not taken place by the date on the notice, the Consulate has the ability to re-validate the petition.

I would suggest you call the Consulate and see if they have the file in their possession.

wow.. some bad advice fromnon-vn members since it is not possible to 'call' the consulate for over 2 years now. They have a new form that yeilds fast responses on the HCMC consulate website. fill out the form and ask what the status is.

Did you guys even read what the OP asked?

OP-- Read my signature below. Call DOS or just turn in your package 3 now.

I-129F NOA2 : 2012-05-15

NVC Left : 2012-06-28

Consulate Received : 2012-07-02

Packet 3 Received : Called DOS on 07/3 and package 3 sent out. We didn't wait for the "physical" package. My fiance' mailed DS2001 and DS230 part I

out the next day via EMS. You don't have to wait for pkg3. You can download and fill it out ahead of time.

Thanks everyone for replying!

I used the online inquiry form and sent my questions. I got the answer that they told me they already mailed the instruction package on August 7th 2012, and they also sent me a link to download the PDF file to print out (I assume that's the package 3.) I asked my fiancee to print them out and fill out the DS-2001 and DS-230 Part I to send back to the Consulate.

Now, since my fiancee is having trouble receiving mails at her current address, is it possible for me to request a mailing address change for her with the Consulate? I am planning to use my aunt's address in Vietnam for her to receiving further mails/information from the Consulate. However, she's not living there.
