I am beside myself. I cannot stand to be alone like this without any word from USCIS. I can see my baby boy on Skype and my beloved fiance can enjoy him. I cannot enjoy either of them. I submitted an expedite request in April to avoid this situation, even though I was supposed to be approved on August 19, 2012 (and my son to be born in October). After the expedite was denied, I contacted my congressman and they have been no help. NCSC is also no help at all. They thank me for calling them and tell me not to hesitate to call them back, so the call center folks have all the time in the world to talk to me, but the investigators are swamped? Now it is October and things are so difficult to bear and, I think I have been more than patient. What can I do? I wish I had an answer, positive or negative, or a new estimated date of response. I cannot believe that immigration is so harsh on upstanding citizens who are truly productive in society. They are making me want to forget working and just live. Can my fiance visit me with my baby? NO. I am a very productive citizen who just wants to follow the rules. But, how is it that USCIS cannot understand the pain and suffering they can cause the regular "Joe"? Do they know they make grown men cry to sleep as their fiance hopelessly lives 3,000 miles away? That their family is growing without regards to immigration timelines? We only have one life to live and we want to live it to the fullest...

Looking at your timeline, it took you 10 months to file the papers and you're blaming USCIS because you've been waiting 6.5 months since you filed.

Its frustrating you just have to wait. Im having our baby thursday and my fiance wont make it. I tried expediating but it was denied. I was so upset & depressed for my baby & fiance, but after we accepted this is just the hand we were dealt, it has made it easier. Fighting it and dwelling on it just makes the situation more frustrating. I completely understand how your feeling. The baby makes it worst. Hang in there & be strong for your family.

I did file CRBA (Consular Report of Birth Abroad). Thanks for asking :)

Thanks for the words of encouragement. They are desperately needed.

As for why I waited 10 months before filing her K-1... Her divorce took much longer than anticipated.

QueenE, I wish you as much happiness with your baby as I feel with mine. My fiance had hers in an emergency c-section because of preclampsia. Still not a reason to expedite and an enormously stressful time for us to have to be apart. I hope all goes well on Thursday and that you are not in an emergency situation like we were. Still, my baby is the most beautiful gift my fiance could have given me and I'm sure your fiance feels the same. Wish you the best!

We all go through this very depressing time where we feel desesperado and hopeless. I am here to say this too shall pass. I know it's hard. I recently was able to bring my husband in May, so I know how you feel. Unfortunately there is nothing we can do but wait. It's the sad truth. There are people with far worse situations than you and I that thankfully are able to get expedites, although we all feel like we all deserve it. It's not fair to be separated from those we love, but it will soon be over.

Try to stay busy doing things you enjoy, I know it's easier said than done but the storm is almost over. Hang in there. :star:

Sorry for my stupid comment. ca_babe <-- :bonk:

It looks like Vermont is processing I-129F from February 27, 2012. Maybe you'll get your approval in the next week or so. I'll try requesting expediting at the US Embassy level. They're different from USCIS. Maybe you'll get an approval this time.

This is a mighty tough time, si man. :(

Try to visit, if you can.

Be SURE to be there for the embassy interview, when it's scheduled.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

it is truly depressing to wait a endless time with no light at the end of the tunnel. I have tried everything from service request to a congressional inquiry with no resolve. All I keep getting told is awaiting backgrounds. its amazing how some people get approved so fast while others are left in the black hole which is truly unfair.

What is an Embassy-level expedite? Can I do that before USCIS finishes with their process? Or before the NVC sends the information? When can I do such a process?

And thank you everyone for being on the same page as me. It feels better knowing that I'm not the only one :)

The I129f/K1 is a multi stage process. When it's expedited at the service center, it doesn't mean it'll continue through NVC and the embassy that way. So it's basically the same kind of process in order to expedite at embassy as the way it was done at the service center.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

Click timeline or "about me" for all details.

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days

Hang in there!

You are certainly not the first one to have these feelings, and most certainly won't be the last!

Good luck on your visa journey.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)
