Hi guys,

Listen, about 15 days ago I sent in our I-129F Form to TSC and still have not receive anything from that office not even a NOA1 to date. My question to all is about how long am I looking at from this date till I receive NOA2? I notice that the money has been drawn 2 days ago from my checking account but again I have not got a letter about anything. Hope someone has gone thru the same thing before and hope you can cheer me up..hehe.

Thank you !!

_alex

Rather frustrating isn't it. They cash your check but don't send you a notice. Unfortunately that is fairly typical.

You should be getting your notice in the mail fairly soon. Then the long wait really begins. Once you have a case number you can sign up for email service at the USCIS web site. Then you will be able to see when they actually move your case. Don't get too excited about the "touches" of your case. You are looking at a minimum of three months generally and probably a little longer.

Understand the logistics. The USCIS gets thousands of applications each week. The Nebraska and Texas centers are sending all of their I-129F cases to California. So, essentially 3/4 of the country is processed by CSC for this type of application. And to make matters a little worse, we are coming into the holiday season when the USCIS employees will be taking holidays and vacations resulting in further backlogs.

Get ready to wait and relax. The system may be slow, but eventually it does move forward. Just keep good spirits and try to keep your fiancee focused on the ultimate outcome.

Good Luck!

alexanderwill,

60-90 days is quite optimistic and purely speculative. I would not make any concrete plans until you have the NOA-2 in hand. This is the downside of the K-1 process, you are at the mercy of the USCIS.

On the back of the check you'll see a stamp with WAC followed by 10 digits - that's your NOA1 #. With that you can sign up on the USCIS site.

Good luck and be patient

Also when people are telling you 60-90 days remember that for the I-129F approval ... You still have to go through the interview in your fiance's country to get the actual K-1 ... And depending where he/she lives that can take months to get an interview date ...

And you would be wise to PLAN on six months and not make a wedding date, buy plane tickets, or make any concrete plans. There are zillions of things that can delay this process - RFEs, changes in law, security checks, administrative review, backlogs at the NVC, backlogs at the consulate, the list goes on and on. Some people wait 30 days, some people wait 234 days. Best to be well informed and settle in for a wait - if it happens to move more quickly, what a nice surprise.
