Help :( NVC Issue

Ok so my husband (the USC) called the NVC this morning to confirm that the completed DS3032 form had been received by them, as late afternoon yesterday we had word from tracking that it arrived in New Hamphire ANYWAY the NVC said it hasn't been registered in the system yet, which made sense, but as my husband was about to end his call with the NVC call centre staff he hurriedly asked "oh out of interest are our other forms on their way ie; the I-864 etc" she said "no you need to download these fill them out and attach all appropriate evidence"

Ok the problem I have is last week they told my husband the next lot of forms were sent to us on the 17th of September, subsequently we were advised to wait for them before completing anything or sending anything in lest we do it of our own accord and miss stuff, THIS makes sense, the advice today of just go ahead and send whatever in? NO SENSE WHATSOEVER!

Can anyone (dwheels you out there) add any logic to this situation, we are more confused than ever now

Thanks for your time

I am at my desk goig tthrough VJ mail reading this and LOLing. Feeling your frustration Thank you for the Batman call. .

Okay NVC send you no forms. What they send is the link to the Uscis.gov wbsite so you can get the forms yourself and read what you need to do. Thats why the post#1 and POst#2 for NVC filers is so key so WE at VJ can get a jump on the world. Imagine the rest of the world outside of VJ has no clue about emailing the DS-3032 so they mail. haha

Remember when you call NVC you are talking to Frank and Sally operator who literally read off a script. They will always say 15 to 20 days for EVERYTHING to receive this and that. I haf estimated that if you waited on them to send this and that it would take like 6 months I swear at NVC to get through.

So you have to get your own I-864, DS-230 and all that fun. Don't forget to print your bar-coded coversheet from the payment portal. DO NOT use the sheet in the email (well you could but I think its different).

Hope that helps. I am here (slow day at work).B-)

YAY@you answering the bat phone! Lol youre funny. O and the risk off sounding repetitive! Thank you so much! After your advice yesterday I honestly thought I'd be in the clear for awhile thus could give you a night off from my Q&As lol

Okay so John and I have now read your direction more closely and are downloading the forms, have referred the website etc, it talked about the importance of the cover sheet with the bar code as well, so thanks for that tidbit too, just out of interest though the flow type chart where you select which catagory you fall into so as to send in the appropriate forms made mention of the I-864 the 864a the 864p but doesn't speak of the DS230 or the I-485, wheels could you tell me which forms MUST be in this package, I've looked for and found the checklist but it doesn't give hints either :(

I swear I'm not usually such a dope, this stuff seriously numbs my remaining brain cells!

Thanks wheels

I am and have been proactive. Please don't mistake seeking clarity or guidance as complacency.

I have been working on direction from the NVC who originally and right up until yesterday told my husband and I not to jump the gun. They kept saying await the forms in the post, and telling us "within 14 days youll receive a package in the post" we aren't lazy people and are usually very independent types, however if you're told to sit and wait by a government department you try to apply some patience - i have read the sites you speak of, I just thought the purpose of visa journey is constructive advice and support to those who need and are informed to provide it.

I am just trying to avoid potential RFEs, and attempting to have all my ts crossed.

Don't know what flowchart you are looking at., There's two paths for NVC the AOS or I-864 path and the IV BILL or DS-230 that path is triggered by the receipt and acceptance of your DS-3032.

Now which I-864 is your decision. Is for the sponsor a is joint sponsors p is the poverty guideline list. Are you both in NZ and will use a co-sponsor or something? You mention I-485 why would you be filling out that?

Goodness looking t your timeline you should have been done. Sorry.

Lol oh man, please tell me you're joking @ we should be done. I can't believe we wasted almost 8 weeks. Ugh, anyway I shall not waste another day!

My husband and I both live in new Zealand, he's lived here for five years. He is completing the I-864 as my petitioner but my mother in law is my sponsor, and she's completed her I-864 so that's ready to go. My husband said he read that the I-485 had to go into the nvc but because I've never read that myself and due to your surprise about it, I'm trying to find out from him where he read that.

Nope no I-485 filing for u. Your husband probably got that from the acronyms AOS for initial filers like us AOS is Affidavit of support. For couples here they are AOS (adjustment of status). Now you say u got the AOS (I-864) and all supporting documents together and I would assume proof of domicile and all that?

How about your IV BILL packet do you have all that ready? You said you paid both bills right?

We absolutely have all supporting documents, proof of domicile, and the AOS form completed and ready to go. The only fee we paid was the AOS processing fee of $88 though, the IV Bill is unchartered territory? :/

Okay this will help go to the NVC filers thread read #1 and #2 post http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/391875-nvc-filers-october-2012/

You have some document gathering for your IV BILL (DS-230 package).. If the AOS is ready and paid slap that bar-coded cover page on it and send now. Might as well send that.

1.Police report (every where u have lived since 16 for 6 months)

2. marriage certificate

3. Birth certificate

4. divorce decree (if applicable)

5. Biographical pages of passport

6. 2 passport pics

I whole heartedly agree with you :) I thank my stars there are more VJ users like dwheels, than there are of the not so pleasant kind, who are irritated by the 'neediness' of the rest of us - Anyway, thanks for the support Nick, best of luck to you too. :)

lol, I do not doubt for a second, that I will be back with 3048204769327 more questions before this journey of mine comes to its close. As for your VisaJourney T-shirt with the Bonking emoticons lol, I think better yet, you need one that says "dwheels...Visa Journey Curator/Custodian/Janitor" because this is like the second if not the third time that you have single handedly cleaned up the astounding mess accumulating in my grey matter. The whole thing would drive me bonkers, if not for you standing in the wings Batman!

I swear though, my "approval" or "denial" cannot come soon enough! :)
