Have question if anyone wishes to tackle:

My fiance was born in Medellin Colombia, on all the paperwork submitted to the USCIS we put Medellin as her birthplace. We now have approval and are awaiting pack 3 from the embassy. However, I noticed that on her passport and birth certificate it says Caldas, Antioqia,,which is a municipality of Medellin...My question is on the paperwork that we recieve from the embassy, what would be best to put as her birthplace? I know I messed up her by not puting the same thing,,,but is this going to be a problem???If so, how to fix? I am surprised it was not picked up by the USCIS...

g65nov,

It sounds like semantics to me. Municipalities, provinces, states, counties, towns, villages, etc...

Just put all that will fit into the forms, starting with the smallest place. e.g. town.

Address the issue simply as you have explained it here IF it comes up in the interview.

YMMV
