Question:

1.What document i have to bring to apply for SSN??

2.how many days to receive the SS card in the mail???

3.How long to wait in the line??? :whistle:

4.Can I use the approval notice for my I-485 as proof that I'm a legal permanent resident???

June 11-AOS sent
June 13-touched
June 15-NOA1
June 26-Notice for Biometric
June 29-RFE notice(2011 tax)
July 09-Biometric 1:00 pm at Buena Park,CA
July 11-RFE sent
July 12-Notice I-30 transferred from CSC to NBC
July 16-Response Review
July 20-email saying I-30 transferred to USCIS office
Aug 07-recieved email for interview (Sept 10,2012)
Au9 09-interview letter in the mail at Santa Ana@10:30am
Aug 15-EAD card production
Aug 23-EAD card in hand
Sept 10-Interview Day-APPROVED ON THE SPOT..thank You God:-)
Nov 6-After info pass and Service request finally it updated to DECISION.....
Nov 9-Card Production
Nov 15-Green card in hand:-)

My husband took his passport which had the k1 visa and the I94 attached. You might want to bring your birth certificate too. The card took about 35 days, but some people get it faster. We sat in line about 1 1/2 hr.

08/01/12-Married08/17/12-Applied for Social Security Card09/23/12-Husband received his Social Security card!09/27/12-Filed AOS09/28/12-AOS package received10/01/12-Text message from USCIS10/03/12-Check cashed10/09/12-NOA1 for I485,I765,I131 AND Biometrics Appointment Letter10/24/12-Biometrics Appointment12/11/12-EAD and AP Approved-75 days12/14/12-EAD/AP Card Production ordered12/21/12-EAD/AP Card came in the mail06/22/13-Green Card Approved06/27/13-Greed Card Production Ordered06/29/13-Green Card came in the mail<p>

04/09/15-Mailed ROC

04/10/2015-Package received

04/14/2015-Check cashed

06/02/2015-Called Service Center (still no NOA1) Service request found out wrong address on paperwork! :(

06/03/2015-Called to get address updated Ar11 online add change didnt work-got infopass for June 10th

06/10/2015-Went to info pass appt. Hubby got a 1yr. Extension stamp in his passport and biometrics done

08/12/2015-ROC Approved. Got letter in the mail.

08/29/2015-received new card in the mail.

1) Certified copy of your birth certificate, passport, green card (or EAD) and completed SS-5 application form.

2) Likely 1-2 weeks, but it could be up to a month.

3) Until you get to the front.

4) No, I believe they have to see the actual green card itself.

i went this morning and applied for SSN the lady just gave me a paper served as receipt stating that i will have the card in 2weeks....

I thought I will have SSN right away but 2 weeks for the card???

That's normal processing. It will take at least two weeks.
