Immigrants, how did you cope with American bathrooms?

I have a fiancee from Indonesia. They use sprayers instead of toilet paper. As you can imagine, she is scared about having to use toilet paper instead of sprayers. If you were in a similar situation when you immigrated here, how did you cope with it? Did you ever get used to it?

These can be installed in the home, is a kit for 50 bucks you can buy locally at any Muslim Market in Houston.

Thank you. What about for those times where you have to use a public restroom? Like if you're camping or whatever.

Hint - there's a empty spray bottle, can purchase almost anywhere.

MOST OF THEM FIT into the 1 litre bottle of water found everywhere (smaller sizes not fit)

Seriously, if she's used to using water to cleanse herself and she wants to continue, you can go to the hardware store and buy a toilet adaptor kit. Just bring it home and plug it in and it's ready to go. They have fancy ones with buttons and temperature controls, and simple ones that just use plain cold water.

If the hot and cold water supply to your sink is near the toilet then installing a bidet attachment should be easy. I'm buying one before hubby comes here. They seem popular in Europe, too, but I only saw cold water ones yikes! Google "bidet" and you will find lots of options, from about $50 on up to hundreds, depending on how fancy you want. I think they are a great idea.

that's common. the public toilets in certain parts of Asia are so dirty, nobody cleans them, they just stand on the toilet seats and pee.
