Does anyone know the processing speed in Embassy in Montreal?

what is their procedure?

will the interview be arranged before or after PD becomes current?

How long it takes from PD becoming current to getting GC issued?

Thanks a lot.

Montreal is back logged, so it could take a few months. Hopefully some Canadian memebrs will chime in with more accurate estimates.

Once approved at interview, you get a visa (NOT greencard). You have 6 months to use the visa to immigrate to the USA; when you cross the border, they will stamp your passport (= endorse your visa page), and that will act as temp greencard until your physical card appears in the mail some 6 weeks later.

Thanks. Do you know when the interview will be arranged, before PD is current or after that?

(I have submitted all required documents and paid all fees earlier this year, I was told the next step will be the interview, but my PD will become current in at least 8 months.)
