Thanks for the response. I asked because I got curious. I got curious because I read and article over the internet about how the wives used to be hundred years ago. They cook for the family, take care of their family, do everything for the family and they are labeled as "submissive wives." Hundred years ago woman don't work but stay at home and take care of their family needs. Right now Woman work and some husband stayed at home to take care of the kids while wife work 1 to 2 jobs. So, I wonder if in this case are guys can be labeled as a "submissive husband?"

The concept of submission dependents on a few factors and is view differently.. Religion for many, Culture for others, abusiveness for the rest.

As a man, my ego and macho-hood, would want my wife to be quiet when I talk and not expecting her to answer back even if I am wrong [Culture/Religion/??] I would expect to be first in my home above all including my kid. But in many areas we have gone wrong, contemplating religion and miss-interpreting the bible and taking absorbing our family teachings that women are to be submissive and can not voice out their opinion.

I prefer to have a women with opinion and voice than a doll who cannot make a decision on her own.

"Peace is not the product of terror or fear. Peace is not the silence of cemeteries. Peace is not the silent result of violent repression. Peace is the generous, tranquil contribution of all to the good of all. Peace is dynamism. Peace is generosity. It is right and it is duty." -- NAPF page on Oscar Romero
