Hey guys. I recently received my Green Card and on my forms I ticked the box that allowed USCIS to register me for Select Service on my behalf. I want to do this so I can receive my citizenship in a few years. I'm just wondering how long I should wait to find out if they have registered me or if not when to register myself. What are people's experiences of this? I'm 24 next week so have a year to do it.

You can check online to see if you were correctly registered: https://www.sss.gov/RegVer/wfVerification.aspx

Even if it doesn't come up, that does not mean you are not registered since their online database is not authoritative. If it comes up negative call them at 1-888-655-1825 and they should be able to tell you definitively whether you are registered or not. Since you are not even 24 yet then it's a simple matter to register, should USCIS not have done it correctly.

Day 341 (12/10/18) Interview was scheduled for 1/14/19

Day 376 (1/14/19) Interview

Day 385 (1/23/19) Denied

Day 400 (2/7/19) Denial revoked; N-400 approved; oath ceremony set for 2/14/19

Day 407 (2/14/19) Oath ceremony in Dallas, TX
