Wow! The interviewing officer at the Stockholm embassy didn't even so much as bother to ask if I'd brought proof of a bona fide relationship. You've got a point though; Nigeria is probably a whole different ball park than Sweden.

You know what? Honestly, it feels a little weird. I'm OK with the pom-poms, but the slim fit uniform and the skirt just isn't my thing. The skirt makes my butt look big.

:jest:;)

Nigeria, Sweden ha can you imagine no comparison I would imagine. You know all we think of is white snow beautiful coountry, wonderful peaceful people, Good food and drink. Good Llord man why you leaving that. LOL

And please for the love of man put away the skirt okay.

People Mr Borstrom is back. Oh my dear we have missed you. Keep us rollin along until you POE okay. I think soon I will be having a melt down. If my husbands papers don't get here soon. means that whole IV BILL document gathering he will have to run all over Nigeria again. And frankly Lord help me give me strength with this.

I have heard there is occasionally snow in Pittsburgh too. I think the climate will take some getting used to for me, Sweden has a colder climate than Pittsburgh. I will miss Sweden. I'm leaving it all behind to me with the woman I love, of course. But it will always be there. Relatives have been very supportive and many of them are looking forward to visiting. And we will go back to visit also.

I will definitely be around until POE. I'm rooting for all you guys. :)

Medical visit done. Now we just wait 2 weeks for the interview.

Are CR1-IR1 visa applicants supposed to receive something from the embassy or just the email from NVC with interview date?

Yes, NVC will contact you by email with the interview date. You can continue to call them if you like. Congrats on the early medical. You're on the ball!

Nope, you don't receive anything from the embassy. The interview letter from NVC is the last thing you receive.

I have that, and damn straight we're on the ball, sent the I-130 less than 3 months ago!

Alright thanks, I was wondering if our less than efficient mailman just hadn't gotten it to us yet, but I got the email from NVC so I guess we're all set! :)

I have a question about IV application, #32, about employment. I heard that leaving gaps in employment calls for RFE. So we figured everything out but:

My husband has gaps in employment, however, he was attending school at that time. In this case, what should we write there? Would "Unemployed/student" work in the "job title" space? What about "location" and "employer" spots - should they be filled out with "N/A"?

Also, in #30 I was concerned about the addresses because in my husband's case - there were many of them due to school in another city and seasonal work abroad. I called NVC to ask about it and I was told that even if the job or school time was longer than 6 months but the individual did not change their mailing address at the post office - it doesn't count. That makes everything much easier.

Any advice on #32, please?

Impatient - my second name :)

Oh no, please don't tell me that. Where did you read it causes RFE? I've seen that gaps in places you LIVED causes RFE but not employment.

You're probably right, but I hope that isn't always the case. My wife had a few months in 2009 between jobs that we didn't put 'unemployed' - I really, really hope the DS-230 doesn't get kicked back to us. Tired of spending money on FedEx and getting set back in the process. They could, I suppose PUBLISH SOME INSTRUCTIONS to help clear up issues like this.

Anyone have experience with this? I can't seem to find a definite answer on the boards.

Good luck to all still looking for case complete.

I'm sorry. I didn't want anyone to freak out - this process is so nerve-racking that the last thing I want to do is give someone more to worry about. Maybe you're right - maybe it was about places where one lived not employment. Gosh, I just don't know at this point :bonk:

If I read it correctly it was somewhere on VJ but I may be mistaken.

And you are so right!! How about detailed instructions on how to fill some of these questions.
