Man, reading these posts sure take me back. It's only been a few months since we finally finished the process but it already seems like a long time ago. I guess once you're past it time really flies. :)

Good luck to everyone and a special good luck to all those going to Guangzhou.

Saylin! :D How are you doing? I hope things are well. :D

Darnell! :D

RyanH! :D

I don't think I really properly thanked everyone for all their help during those dark days. So thank you again. :)

foobaz!!! *waves* :D Hiiii. Glad things are going well for you! I'm doing good, been keeping busy with school, work, and VJ (of course) :P

Just passed my interview an hour ago! A bit of an anti-climax, cause it was done after answering 5 basic questions, followed by 'ok, you're approved. next in line...'

But hey, the process is all done now!!

Oh my god, when I read those lines, I can totally hear it in that NVC voice, even after more than a year since I last called laughing.giflaughing.gif

Congrats :)

What is up with this info "There is a delay of at least 12 weeks between the date the file is dispatched by NVC and the date the Immigrant Visa Section receives the file and completes action on the case. The Immigrant Visa Section will be in contact with the applicant once they are able to schedule the visa interview."

Doesn't it usually go much faster after the case is completed? I didn't think I would have to wait another 4 months :(

Also, I was just informed that the medical now has to be done BEFORE an interview can even be scheduled. Why does no one seem to know this? It looks like I have been wasting all this time and now the case is almost complete and I don't have my medical done which will cause a further delay. I am so confused. If I do the medical before though, I don't understand how the embassy would even know what to do with it because they wouldn't have received the documents from the US yet.

I found the question/answer about the quote above (about taking 12 weeks). That seems a little off to me. It might just be a standard time frame (like with NVC operators) and may take less time, but they want to cover their behinds just in case.

I didn't find the question/answer about needing the medical done before an interview is assigned though...

Ok, just got off the phone with the NVCeees

They said the CASE IS COMPLETE! HOWEVER I have to give an employment letter to the beneficiary for the Affidavit of Support at the interview.

Kind of weird because they had sent me a checklist for this, and I have sent it along. Apparently they have not gotten to it yet (it's been about a week), but they opted to close the case anyway.

Anyone heard of a situation like this before?

Regardless, the letter is there and they should be getting to it in the next couple of days so hopefully that will be a case complete without an asterisk. Also, giving my wife the letter won't be too hard since we live in the same apartment.

AND hopefully we'll get an interview date before too long :)

Yes I have usually its a "we want to see original" thing. So just have it in the interview packet with an up to dtae pay stub and you are good to go.
