The Republicans, it seems, can do no wrong.

Of course they make mistakes and there are lots of issues republicans have different views on. I have not seen republicans burning people who disagree with them. Joe Lieberman ring a bell.

If you think that's exclusive to the Democrats - that's bull. The Bush administration has smeared, slandered and generally rubbished anyone who has taken a public stand against the Iraq war. And I'm not talking about members of the Democratic party...

If you go against the party line - you're fair game. Apparently...

How does one become a Bushbot theoretically without having grown up in the U.S.?

A Bushbot is someone who supports Bush?

Many people voted for Bush simply because they didn't like the other options.

It doesn't mean they liked him or agreed with all his policy decisions.

Yep you have to go with the lesser of two evils.

Yeah - I know I'd settle with a rattling engine, rather than give the thing a much-needed overhaul ;)

Just goes to show how stupid certain middle class people are that they think they are voting George W out..:lol::wacko:

So, what exactly is Bush able to do with a Democratic majority in Congress? I tell you what: Hoping and bracing that his crooked ####### won't get impeached. And that would be about it. May the Reps get their behinds whipped for supporting this criminal bunch at 1600 Penn Ave.

This is where your lack of knowledge of American really lets you down -- this one is far too easy -- the Bush campaign "burned" John McCain (Republican: Arizona) by waging a nasty smear campaign suggesting he was mentally unstable from being a PRISONER OF WAR during Vietnam -- nothing the Democrats did to Leiberman comes close to that.

Also, back in 2001, Republican strong arm tactics forced a then-moderate Republican James Jeffords (Independent: Vermont) to leave the GOP over disagreements over a proposed education bill and tax cuts. This handed back control of the senate to the Democrats for the first time since 1994.

It's not just the middle class voters that abandon the GOP:

Business groups woo Democrats

Campaign contributions rise for lawmakers who might hold leadership positions after Nov. 7.

By Richard Simon, Times Staff Writer

October 27, 2006

"Some people have discovered virtues in me that they had previously overlooked," Rep. Barney Frank of Massachusetts, who stands to become chairman of the Financial Services Committee if Democrats control the House, mused recently. "The prospect of the chairmanship seems to have been a very good introduction."

Frank was referring to a surge in campaign contributions from pro-business groups — groups whose members would have to deal with the liberal Democrat instead of a probably-more-congenial Republican. (Rep. Michael G. Oxley, the Ohio Republican who now heads the committee, is retiring after this term.)

Issues involving the financial services industry fall under the committee's jurisdiction. And the New York Life Insurance Co.'s political action committee has contributed $10,000 to Frank this election season, up from $1,000 in the 2003-'04 cycle, according to PoliticalMoneyLine, which tracks political donations. The National Assn. of Insurance and Financial Advisors PAC contributed $10,000 to Frank this election season, up from $3,000 in the last cycle.

Frank is not alone. As prospects appear to grow that Republicans will lose control of the House and perhaps even the Senate, business groups, trade associations, and their lobbyists and political advisors have developed a sudden enthusiasm for contributing to Democrats — especially to those likely to be in the House leadership or to head important committees if Republicans lose their majorities.

Rep. Charles B. Rangel (D-N.Y.), for example, would chair the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee in a Democratic-run House, and he has begun hearing from groups he says had not called since the Republicans won control of the House in 1994.

"I don't think meeting with the chairman of General Electric has anything to do with my taking over Ways and Means; I just never realized how much they loved me," Rangel joked.

You said it.. I bet you that is all Democrats will do in congress That is, use any means necessary to impeach George W. There not going to focus on any of the issues they have talked about so much.. That is all baloney to win over votes.. It's George Bush they are after, period..

and what's going to happen. Terrorists are going to have a big smile on their face and walk straight in while everyone has their heads turned and is focusing on the wrong issue..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

If only they had the votes and the guts to do the right thing and impeach that crook.

Do you really not know the answer to this question? Incidentally, the answer is in my post

I was thinking the same thing. For someone that wants to discuss American politics, this would be a need to know. It becomes painfully obvious that this dude doesn't have a first clue.
