I-751 October 2012 filers

This wait is killing . I have a question though was wondering if anyone can advise. Does it mean I am eligible to file for citizenship come October this year? I came into the states in Jan 2011 on a CR1 visa......But with my calculations and read ups I don't have to wait to get the 10 year green card if i am in the qualifying period( 90 days before the 3 years) pls correct me if I am wrong?

Yep you are right. Quite a few people have filed for naturalization since ROC took so long. what it does is forces them to make a decision on the ROC so you can proceed with naturalization. a few people have gotten that done and approved without ever even having the roc finished! crazy eh?

Yes, that's my plan as well, I am a September 2012 filer, and be sure that come September 2013 I will file for naturalization regardless of the status of my ROC

It is definitely a plus. With the Consular offices taking their time processing the 10 year GC, it sure is a relief that we do not have to wait to start the next process. The count down continues.....................

We got back from England/Ireland a couple of weeks ago, and re-entering the USA with expired green card + letter was an uneventful process. We just paper clipped the letter to the card like others mentioned and handed it over to the officer. No muss, no fuss. Just hand over the docs and only speak when spoken to, and it's no problem

I got excited because a couple of September 2012 filers got approved today! Maybe we'll get our approvals sooner than anticipated! Next month, perhaps? We shall see...

I'm late to the party having not been on the forums in such a long time. They received my paperwork on October 1st, but I think I'll be behind you all since my brother had an aneurism a few days before my biometrics, so I had to postpone it to November, then my next appointment happened to be the day of his funeral when I was in England again. So I didn't have my biometrics appointment until December 3rd. I have to say though, that both times I re-entered the USA with my expired green card and letter confirming my right to live and work there, were absolute nightmares involving extremely rude customs officers and long wait times.
