221G pending letter processing

Based on what I have read so far....there is no specific timeline for 221g...unfortunately it can take anywhere for weeks to months. My husband also got an 221g white slip from Mumbai. Its been a month and we are still waiting to hear from the consulate. I contact my senator too, they said they will follow up with the embassy...but i haven't heard back from them either.

for what you got 221g and where your husband submitted documents. my wife got due to passport laminate was peeling.

My wife had a visa interview on Oct 5,2012 at Mumbai. She was given white 221g and asked for joint sponsor-er and police clearance certificate again. We submitted the paperwork on Oct 15th, 2012. My wife and son got the visa on 20th Nov,2012,she got a call on 21st to collect the passport,which she picked up on 23rd Nov,2012. She and my son have got a visa till 27th March,2013. They have also given a sealed envelope to her, which the immigration officer at US airport is supposed to open.

My wife submitted as well as collected her documents from BKC(Trade Center Gr. Floor G Block, Mumbai, 400051

) in Mumbai.

She went there personally to submit and pick-up the documents. You will have to as you need some acknowledgement or receipt from them.

It took exact 5 weeks. But from this forum you can see that there are few people who have waited or even waiting for more than 8 weeks.

i called help desk they said we can directly courier to consulate. and VO also said you will not have to come in again just mail it.

Visit ustraveldocs website. Above I gave you the address of OFC office in Mumbai and someone will have to go there personally to submit the documents and then this OFC office will courier it to US consulate. You need to get a printout of "Document Submission Letter" and fill it before submitting your documents.

i am going to courier it as VO said courier it and HelpDesk also said courier since it is immigrant visa case and they only need new passport nothing else.

they also asked me to add attention: Immigrant Visa Unit

Now on December 3, 2012, I have submitted all the required docs, passport and photos to the calcutta Team Stanley location. My passport is delivered on Nov 4, 2012 to the Mumbai consulate. Now my concern is, I wanted to check the passport online and I checked from here https://www.vfs-usa.co.in/ApplnForms/TrackYourPassport.aspx and it says that " Error in the application, Please contact the administrator". So what is the best way to check and track the passport status online and normally how many days they take to complete this AP process?

Payal you are not under AP, AP is something serious and consulate refer to US FBI for background checks.

you and me are under 221g for additional document request, which is status pending.

In vfs site for tracking passport, that is for Non-Immigrant Visa
