Ejaculations are considered najas (impure), and you're not suppose to eat anything najas. Hence, don't swallow.

To add, in the shafi'i madhab, there is nothing wrong with the act except for getting the impurities in your mouth and swallowing. Hanafis consider the act (except for getting it in your mouth and swallowing) something that is allowable, but disliked. Not sure about the malikis or hanbalis.

Thank you, Rahma, for answering this question in such a delicate manner. I was always under the impression that oral sex in itself wasn't haram but I never thought about whether or not swallowing the ejaculate was haram. Ok just typing that make me a little queasy. I'm not a fan of swallowing anyways...yuck.

It is my understanding that Shafi states it is necessary to clean after but semen is not najas. However, I have no desire to debate semen.

“There is a difference of opinion among the founders of the Four Schools of Jurisprudence regarding whether Mani (semen) is Najas (impure) or not. While both Imams Abu Hanifah and Malik consider it Najas, both Imams Shafi`i and Ahmad do not consider it as such. These differences notwithstanding, all of them insist on washing it away if it is wet, and if dry, scrubbing or erasing it from body, cloth or any other surface it may have come into contact with.
