Doubt on packet 3

Hi everyone. I just got my packet 3 and I'm in doubt about something.

The instructions state the following:

FIRST: Complete and send us form DS-230 Part I. (Application for Immigrant Visa and Foreign Registration) and 1 photo (see instructions attached)

SECOND: Gather all the documents mentioned below that apply to your case. Please check the box on the left once you have gathered the document and send us by mail a copy of each of the documents requested together with this form. Once we have received and checked your copies, we will schedule your appointment with the Immigrant Visa Consul.

So,

should I really go to the embassy (I live two blocks from it) and take the ds-230 without anything attached to it but a photo? and THEN gather all the other forms, affidavit of support, etc, and take it?

i don't understand it so well from the instructions

You have 2 options (especially since you live by the USEM)

Option#1 Fill out the DS 230 grab a photo, put them in an envelope and drop them off and another day present everything else at the same place.

Option #2 Drop off the complete Packet 3

I went with option #2 and saved myself a lot of time; but then again, I had Packet 3 ready the day I got it; so I went over and dropped it off.

You need to drop off your package on the side of the Embassy closer to Cerviño. There's a lookout post (they can see you, you can't see them), knock on their door and give them the envelope. If you have doubts, ask the guards on the sidewalk, they are friendly fellas.
