In Saudi where women don't walk around half nude rape is not nearly as rampant as it is here... women are respected, honored and protected and when a rape does occur the man is punished severly.

What about in other Islamic countries? Could it be that rape is underreported? Me thinks so.

 Specifically because of "hudood" (as in Pakistan from 1979, Iran, etc) ordinances--meaning a woman charging rape will be subject to adultery charges.

Also, crimes committed by the 30,000 or so members of Saudi Arabia's royal family (ALL descended from Abdul Aziz) are NEVER reported!

Touche Charles. And I never agree with you. Saudi Arabia is the worse example of being muslim you can find. Can anyone say wahabism?

i agree...it is the most reactionary form of islam reinforced by a corrupt dictatorship

if men cant resist the temtation they should wear a steal underwear with lock on it - not for the women to have to cover themself for them

ps. but i do agree that wearing bras and low cut pants you can see ### is kinda asking for trouble..

so woman in saudi arabia do get raped? guess covering everything but the eyes dont really protect them. if dressing modestly like they do they should never get raped then.

having them staying inside all day is not respecting them, protecting them, and honoring them...its treating them like a caged animal. this is not respecting them. and as far as it goes not letting them have any kind of idenity is not not honoring them either.

Also, having them stay inside all day is no ultimate protection either, or is there no such thing as rape within a marriage or family?

God forbid your daughter or any woman finds herself in these tyes of situations. But could you define what these tyes of situations are? What if you are sleeping in your own bed at night and someone breaks in? Maybe you "seduced" him without even knowing it as you grocery shopped?

Also I suspect rape is a lot higher in SA than you might think. Just because it is not reported doesn't mean it doesn;t happen.

For one, my daughter will not be allowed to "date" the way girls here are.

SA has a much harsher punishment for rape which is, I'm sure, a great deterent to the potential rapist... not like here with a slap on the wrist... in KSA a rapist can be put to death for such an act.

If a man comes into any woman's house and does anything to her he should be dealt with.

All I'm saying is maybe women should take some responsibility about the way they dress and behave... it's strange to me to see that advise met with such disdain.

I just see a big difference between expecting certain consequences because of our choices, and deserving those consequences.

Well I guess I should clarify that I don't agree with this whackjob.... I do believe we should be responsible... I never said anyone deserved anything.

In Saudi where women don't walk around half nude rape is not nearly as rampant as it is here... women are respected, honored and protected...

Is this really the case?

I'd like to see some statistics about that... unbiased ones.

Anything at all that I may provide you from SA I'm sure you would consider biased. I know people who live there and that is the way they see it.

You mean trailer.

My daughter does not live in a trailor.

There is no such thing as "wahabism"... try salafi.

At least they don't reward rapists with three hots and a cot for a few months before setting them back out on the public

Good luck with that. If there's one thing teenage girls obey. it's strict rules from their parents forbidding the natural.

5am friday morning

thursday night far from sleep

i'm still up and driving

can't go home obviously

so i'll just change direction

cause they'll soon know where i live

and i wanna live

got a full tank and some chips

it was me and a gun

and a man on my back

and i sang "holy holy"

as he buttoned down his pants

you can laugh

its kind of funny

things you think

times like these

like i haven't seen BARBADOS

so i must get out of this

yes i wore a slinky red thing

does that mean i should spread

for you, your friends

your father, mr ed

it was me and a gun

and a man on my back

but i haven't seen BARBADOS

so i must get out of this

and i know what this means

me and jesus a few years back

used to hang

and he said "it's your choice babe

just remember

i don't think you'll be back

in 3 days time so you choose well"

tell me whats right

is it my right to be on my stomach

of fred's seville

it was me and a gun

and a man on my back

but i haven't seen BARBADOS

so i must get out of this

and do you know CAROLINA

where the biscuits

are soft and sweet

these things go through your head

when there's a man on your back

and you're pushed flat on your stomach

it's not a classic cadillac

it was me and a gun

and a man on my back

but i haven't seen BARBADOS

so i must get out of this

i haven't seen BARBADOS

so i must get out of this

T. Amos

Carry on...

Anything at all that I may provide you from SA I'm sure you would consider biased. I know people who live there and that is the way they see it.

The way they see it has nothing to do with what goes unreported. I have relatives who live in Pakistan and Afghanistan and I have been to both places quite a few times and the way I saw things was COMPLETELY different then what they saw. I chose to curse out men who tried anything with me while my cousins and Aunt's thought it was wrong for a woman to raise her voice in public and people would think I was a bad girl. These women need some education to know that they are not to blame for men thinking with their manparts...
