Hookers excepted.

I am sure this is tongue in cheek, but there is no excuse for perpetuating the myth that men are incapable of controlling their sexual urges.

Or that women have responsibility for men's actions.

I figure if men are really like the crazed sex addicts portrayed in the article, I ain't going to stop at covering my hair with a scarf. If they're no more like dogs, and are going to fall on any woman at any time, lock 'em up. Allow them out only on leashes while accompanied by their mothers and four female relatives. Give them shots to reduce their sex drive. Maybe castrate them like we do tomcats.

Of course, that's a crazy and deeply sad view of men. So, poor things, have to have a bit of self-control.

 to all that you said

Or that if you're not hijabéd, you're running around half-naked. There are clothing options in between burqas and g-strings, really!

In an office one is expected to wear smart clothes, not in the interests of sexual restraint, but because society has equated being smartly dressed with concepts such as efficiency, reliablity and having a professional work ethic.

Other work environments may have other dictats but they are related to the type of work being conducted, not whether men can work with females in scanty attire or otherwise.

But what you wear there does matter.

As far as temptation goes.... let me use a different example... .

Do you keep your money in a bank or in a box on your front porch?

Let's not confuse prudence with blame. It isn't prudent to leave your money on your front stoop, but it's the fault of the thief if he steals. Not a judge in the world going to buy that he broke into your house because you were advertising that you had money by having an expensive window treatment and a well-manicured plot of hydrangeas.

This isn't the adultery case anyway. Adultery's fifty-fifty. I don't see how you'd get to 90% the woman's fault. Maybe some sort of Rube Goldberg contract where she smiles, he trips, his pants fall off, freeing willy, tripping her so she lands on him. Calamity infidelity!

I don't except the temptation argument so any analogy is pointless.

Men and women should treat each other with respect regardless as to what they happen to be wearing, or not wearing.

We live with temptation all the time, it's how we deal with it that's important, not how the temptation is packaged.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I'm starting to like VP's argument more and more!

There are some pretty tasty looking treats in the kitchen. I might just eat them. And if I do, it won't be my fault if I gain weight! (well, I'll be 10% at fault, but those damn tempting cookies - 90%) Woohoo!

Except that I think in VP's logic beig a woman you are 90% to blame because those cookies have no control over the fact that they are cookies. :P

VP,

since you put such a strong emphasis on clothing, what kind of clothing do you find appopriate?

What kind of clothing would prevent adultery?

Thanks

So your husband, as well as his creator, would feel it was his fault for cheating?

Did I ever say he should hold no responsibility in it? Have I not repeatedly said both parties should take responsibility??

Well if you agreed with the OP in the article, it's hardly an equitable distribution of blame.

Ok then, let's play semantics....how much blame would be your husband's? 10% 15% 17.5%? come on now, ballpark a figure here. :star:

You got a bit of time to think about this one cos I gotta run for the rest of the afternoon. ;)

Bump

I didn't notice an answer to this VP :)

Also keep in mind aq0122M.gif and lastly zcom.gif
