He just don't have to "cheat". He can just mary another woman when the other one get's too old or whatever. That is not cheating. You see, it's all build into the system. The creator takes care of the created like that.
They even have "temporary marriages" - http://www.library.cornell.edu/colldev/mideast/tmpmrig.htm

See, just like I said. A Somali acquaintance of mine broke it all down for me. He'd never cheat. But he'd like to have multiple wives. It's all a question of definitions.

So your husband, as well as his creator, would feel it was his fault for cheating?

Did I ever say he should hold no responsibility in it? Have I not repeatedly said both parties should take responsibility??

VP what would happen if your husband cheated on you?

Well if you agreed with the OP in the article, it's hardly an equitable distribution of blame.

Ok then, let's play semantics....how much blame would be your husband's? 10% 15% 17.5%? come on now, ballpark a figure here. :star:

You got a bit of time to think about this one cos I gotta run for the rest of the afternoon. ;)

My husband wouldn't cheat on me because he fears his creator. He also wouldn't put himself in a postition of being alone with a non-related woman to be tempted in the first place.

Hardly funny, but the point is that I prefer to have a husband who can control his biological functions whether he's in the company of women he is related to or not, than one who is allowed to cheat if the temptation is great enough.

Who said he's allowed?

He'd claim to have been "temporarily married" to the other woman. That'd make it okay before the creator. :P

The way they see it has nothing to do with what goes unreported. I have relatives who live in Pakistan and Afghanistan and I have been to both places quite a few times and the way I saw things was COMPLETELY different then what they saw. I chose to curse out men who tried anything with me while my cousins and Aunt's thought it was wrong for a woman to raise her voice in public and people would think I was a bad girl. These women need some education to know that they are not to blame for men thinking with their manparts...

Good point Nizzy.

And VP has also forgotten that almost nothing is reported IN Saudi Arabia about the crimes-and-shenanigans of royal family members of whom there are around 30,000 today (all descendants of Abdul Aziz). In a population of such size who can easily escape law's consequences, you certainly are not going to get cent-percent adherence!

He can marry up to four wives IF he can meet the requirements but we don't believe in temp marriages.

When you say, as you do, that men can often not resist temptation, you are in effect permitting men to succumb to temptation.

He can marry up to four wives...

If that is his intent, I hope the US State Department doesn't make the mistake of granting him permanent residence :)

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.

I didn't say that was his intent.

I know you didn't, thus that particular caveat to my statement :)

I know you don't agree but read any documents relating to social history and you will discover that infidelity and sex before marriage are not modern problems at all. Nor is wife beating or rape or any number of other ills.

How can you therefore justify your belief that what a woman chooses to wear is some kind of indication of her sexual availablity?

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

One of these ladies appears more sexually available to me than the other. You get two guesses.
