Hello, and thanks, everyone, for their continuing help. There are long delays between updates, as we all understand these long waits for reuniting families.

My wife is Ethiopian, and we are doing the CR-1/IR-1 process through the United Arab Emirates.

2 days ago, I received this letter. No email, just letter. I not read others that have received this letter, but because I am still waiting for my wife to finish her passport's corrections, I am waiting until then to call the NVC.

I read that they have given us a new case number. But I am confused, because it says "file is now being sent to"...Does that mean my wife should call Abu Dhabi, so to ask when her interview date is?

Dear "Beneficiary":

The National Visa Center (NVC) changed the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General processing "Beneficiary"'s petition to the Embassy/Consulate General in ABU DHABI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES.

This file is now being transferred from the NVC to the US Embassy or Consulate General where the beneficiary's interview will take place. Please be advised that further forms and/or fees may still be requested by the US Embassy/Consulate to complete the processing of this case. Any further inquires should be directed to the assigned US Embassy or Consulate General.

Principal Applicant's Name: ...

They will send another letter to inform you when an interview has been scheduled. But there's no harm in calling.

Thank you, for your support. I will definitely call them as soon as they open.

I'm trying to find other people's opinions/possible experiences with this letter, so less chance of wring information from operator. Another reason, is sometimes these letters are confusing about the status, and not clear on the next steps. This website is a true blessing for many families.

Even if just change of consulate is all this says, it is still a great victory against delays, some have suffered a lot from needing to switch.

You write "another letter", would you mean this is the NVC's case completion letter, and now wait for second letter/interview date?...or this letter not saying anything about case completion, just only a change of consulate?

I also requested for change of embassy/consulate and I just received an email confirming the change. Now I'm still waiting for the email/letter informing me of my interview schedule. I did not receive email/letter about case complete. When I called NVC to ask the status I was told that my case is complete. So you may call or email NVC to know that status of your case.

Thank you, again for your continuing support. And congratulations to your victory, the process has been a fight defending hope against long waiting.

Was your email's wording/text the same as my letter, like both written as a copied and pasted?

Either way, this is great news of progress. I will call after tomorrow when NVC open again, but I just trying to keep my wife's hope alive. Every victory is greater strength.

No the words are not the same. My case is still with NVC. I'm gonna have a longer wait than you. So just be patient. :)
