Hi Everyone,

I just got my interview appointment for adjustment of status and it says: You must bring the ff: items with you.A completed medical examination(Form I-693)and vaccination supplement in a sealed envelope(unless already submitted).

I was just a little confused about this because when I filed the AOS we sent the DS-3025 its valid till march 2013 and in the results vaccine history incomplete checked and eligible for blanket waiver checked. But we didnt received any RFE.Is this means that I really need to go to a civil surgeon to have the I-693 signed to bring for my interview?

No, if you didn't receive a RFE about it, you should be fine. I was in the same case.

The letter is a generic letter for everybody AOSing, it is not highly-specific to your case.

Hi there. I would highly advise that you see a civil surgeon and have your I-693 form done before you attend your interview. My wife ran into some problems also. My fiance(e) was interviewed on Sept 13 and we thought that DS 3025 was sufficient enough evidence before the interview but we didn't get any RFE so we thought it was okay without having the form I-693. The IO still wanted us to provide and asked us to turn in a sealed form I-693 and my wife got an RFE after her interview. It was so disappointing but good thing she didn't get denied.. .. Just from our experience I would suggest you do so k.

Yes, I only submitted a copy of the DS-3025. My vaccination record was ticked incomplete too (eligible for a blanket waiver), but it was only because I had some "age inappropriate vaccines". I had no problem at the interview.

I didn't see a civil surgeon at all, no I-693 filled out.

The question that you need to ask yourself is, why did the doctor tick this box in your DS-3025? Are you missing some required vaccines?

I guess the IO AJabad got was picky. If your vaccination requirements were met at the time of the K-1 medical and that your medical was done less a year ago, only the DS-3025 is fine.

I would go to the interview, and see. Worst case as AJabad, the IO asks you to see a civil surgeon and your case will be on hold.

If you go see one before, you may probably realize later that it was wasted money.

2 choices here! :)

As didopage stated, this letter is generic and you do NOT need to get an I-693 at this point. It would be a waste of time and money to get one now when it's not actually required of a k1.

it is true that some people have been rfe'd at the interview, but this is not necessarily just because of the I-693 not being there, but could be that they were missing shots and it wasn't seen in time for an RFE prior to interview (new staff and all that).

I suggest you wait and see what happens at the interview. Most often you will be fine but if not, you get an RFE, you see a doc, you return the medical docs, you get your GC. Not a big deal at all. You will NOT be denied because you don't have it at the interview. If they want it, you will get an RFE.
