auto expedite in NIGERIA?

hello all,

i got married to my love two weeks and I am still In Nigeria. In my forms, i included my U.S address in the G325A. but there is this one spot where i listed our nigerian address as my current address till present(how long lived here) also the package was mailed to the chicago Lockbox two days ago. I just happened upon this auto expedite threads and I am wondering if we may have keyed into that by some stroke of luck?

GOD has been WONDERFUL!!!
CR-1 (for Husband):
09/15/2012: Got Married
09/26/2012: Mailed I-130 from Nigeria( delayed by customs)
USCIS stage ( 66 days)
10/12/2012: NOA 1
12/17/2012: NOA 2 (case was transferred to NYC office 11/27/12)
NVC stage ( 20 days)
01/08/2013: Case # and IIN assigned ( file arrived NVC mail room 12/20/12)
01/09/2013: AOS invoiced and paid, DS-3032 emailed and mailed.
01/16/2013: IV invoiced &paid. AOS & IV mailed in one package(arrived 01/18).
01/28/2013: Case complete!!!
04/19/2013: Interview; APPROVED!!!!!
05/13/2013: POE; JFK

N-400: (3 months and 12 days)
Filed N-400 : 2011-06-17
Interview: 2011-09-27
Oath Ceremony: 2011-09-30

IR-5 for Mom Entire process took 5 months exactly
USCIS (22days)
mailed I-130 : 2011-09-30
NOA 1: 2011-10-03 (text & email)

What is your status in Nigeria? Tourist? Resident?

I have dual citizenship hence traveled with bothU.S and Nigerian passports so I guess that makes me a resident :)

This is the reason they prefer you(the u.s citizen) filling from the u.s ...we had same issue and many more to come so my husband had to travel back to the u.s to do d filing from there.

Been on this journey since feb 2012!

I think you should research more and ask around.

I am not sure while you have to mail from nigeria if that country does not one of DCF(Direct Consular Filing) unless I'm missing out something. I hope someone with better experience can chime in here... All the best!

DCF is not available in Nigeria.

Thanks Ryan H but what do you advice the op since this option is not available to nigeria. Does she need to withdraw the petition and refile immediately to avoid unnecessary waste of time or what do you think can her his/her situation?

The OP should absolutely NOT withdraw the petition that has been filed. If the file is fortunate enough to enter the "Petitioner lives abroad queue" then that will be a good deal. Otherwise, the file will enter the standard queue and be adjudicated when its time comes.

Thanks Ryan.I am hoping for that 'good deal' by Gods favor. yes i am well aware that Nigeria does not have DCF but just started wondering if some miracle could happen through that entry about my address.

I did not mail it from Nigeria to go through DCF since i know we do not have it there. I just needed to start the process ASAP because i was going to be in Nigeria for four weeks after the wedding and FOUR WEEKS could mean a lot with immigration processing. It will work out eventually.
