Hello fellow VJ'ers...

My name is 'Sankofa' and I am a VJ-aholic. I've just started the process, and even before I joined VJ and sent in my K-1 petition, I was addicted. No kidding. I visit this site endlessly - at work and at home. Even my workers are starting to catch on. My fiance lives in Ghana and every answer to his visa questions begins with, "Someone asked this very question on VJ the other day..."

Glad to be apart of the family. Don't think I could ever make it without y'all...

(Anyone else stationed overseas in the US military?? - just wondering)

October 10, 2006 - Mailed I-129F to TSC via Express Mail guaranteed 3 day delivery (NOT!!)

October 23, 2006 - NOA1

October 27, 2006 - Check cashed - called bank to obtain case# from back of check

October 31, 2006 - Received NOA1 via snail mail

January 17, 2007 - NOA2

January 24, 2007 - NVC received petition

January 25, 2007 - Petition forwarded to Ghana

March 11, 2007 - Fiance receives letter from Embassy dated February 12 informing him to come pick up Packet 3!!! (case never lost!!!)

March 27, 2007 - Packet 3 received from Embassy

March 28, 2007 - Packet 3 returned, Packet 4 received with interview date

July 12, 2007 - Interview Date

August 10, 2007 - Picked up Visa from American Embassy in Accra

August 11, 2007 - Engagement Ceremony in Accra, Ghana

August 21, 2007 - MY BABY CAME HOME!!! POE - JFK

AOS

August 27, 2007 - Civil Marriage Ceremony

September 21, 2007 - Package sent to Chicago Lockbox

September 28, 2007 - Check cashed

October 1, 2007 - Received NOA's (1-485, I-131, I-765) in mail dated September 27, 2007

October 21, 2007 - Wedding Day!!

October 22, 2007 - Original date for Biometrics appt (missed appt because of honeymoon)

November 7, 2007 - Walked in to USCIS Jacksonville and had biometrics taken with no problems

November 13, 2007 - AP Received

November 19, 2007 - EAD Received

November 29, 2007 - Case transferred to CSC

January 22, 2007 - RECEIVED GREEN CARD IN MAIL DATED JANUARY 14, 2008!!!!

02/21/08: GREEN CARD IN HAND

08/23/08: After 7 years together . . . Religious wedding ceremony and HUGE PARTY in Jalisco, Mexico (we deserve it)

08/24-08/30: Spend our honeymoon in Acapulco, Mexico

May 30 08-Baby Joshua was born

Jan 15-Back to NY we go...

May 10-made decision not to go back overseas.

July 10-filed for divorce

Jan 11-Divorce final

July 11-1st trip to take Josh to see George

Mar 12-2nd trip to take Josh to see George

I too am addicted to VJ. My journey ended 17 months ago when I arrived in the US with IR-1 visa (so nothing else to do until naturalization time), however I check on VJ at least once every hour....lol

The sad part is being apart from my SO gives me too much free time. VJ is the first thing I do in the morning ( maybe second ). Arriving home from work I logg on while I watch television that is, and the last thing I do before I sleep ( well, if the lines are clear I try and call my SO every night), but I'm sure you get the point.

I dont think I addicted just overly obssessed. I have VJ ( OCD ) Diagnosis: If I'm not checking for information, I'm thinking about checking. :whistle:

:dance: Remedy: Purchase a data package for cellular phone, so I can check during my drive home

Well maybe thats not a Cure. :P
