I-129F RFE Question

Hi all. Hope you are well.

I checked my process on the USCIS website today only to see that we have been sent an RFE. It has not yet arrived by mail and they are unwilling to disclose over the phone what it is they require. I just wanted a heads up with what was wrong so we could make a start on getting things together. I have compiled a list of what was sent to them so if you have any ideas as to what may benefit us, we would be extremely grateful.

-$340 dollar check payment

-Form I-129F

-From I-129F supplement: Part B, Question 18, explanation of meeting in person

-G-325a for petitioner including signed passport photo

-G-325a for beneficiary including signed passport photo

-Birth certificate photocopy for petitioner

-Letter certifying intent to marry by petitioner

-Letter certifying intent to marry by beneficiary

-Proof of having met in 2 years (10 photos signed with location and written date on reverse, Photocopy of all pages of beneficary's passport with 20 port of entry stamps and the corresponding flight ticket stubs on the same photocopied page, printed Delta Airlines flight activity between US and UK for both petitioner and beneficiary)

Thank you in advance to all that can help.

It sounds like you've included the requirements. It may be something very simple like forgetting to check a box on a form.

Were either of you married before? A missing divorce decree?

Do you have any proof of an ongoing relationship: copies of phone records, letters, emails, chats?

Divorce decrees or court records, if applicable

Were all of the forms signed including the letter of intent?

Did the photos state who is in the pictures?

Do you have any hotel receipts? Receipts from the UK?

Proof of ongoing relationship is not necessary for the I-129F petition.

Welcome to the forum.

The prudent thing to do is to wait until you receive the actual RFE notice. Post the contents of the notice, sans personal data, on the forum. Let the experienced VJ member's help you exactly determine what you will exactly need to do to quickly respond to the RFE. Guessing and speculating without the actual notice is an exercise in futility, and only tends to increase anxiety and tension.

YMMV.

Good luck on your visa journey.

Hi guys

Thank you so much for all your quick responses. Intents to marry were signed and dated. The passport photos were correct dimensions and the proof photos also contained the names of who were in them as well as location and date. The date was not printed on the photo however written by myself on the reverse. At the time the pictures were taken, the date stamp wasn't included. Neither of us have been married before.

Thank you so much again and I'm sure it is some minor clerical error on the forms. It's a real stress-inducer not knowing though as I'm sure you all have experienced.

I will post under this forum again when the RFE arrives and I know more.

Ok guys. So we got an RFE as my fiancée omitted an "N/A" in one of the fields of the I-129F and simply left it blank. Phew! I thought it may have been something more serious! Posted back to the USCIS with blue form stapled to the top to ensure a speedy NOA2 (fingers crossed).

Thank you to all again!

A very easy fix! Good luck with the rest of the process. :)
