Mumbai/Delhi consulate interview tracking

Visa approooooooooved....... My hubby got inside the consulate at 7:30 and came out by 8:45. Thank god. This is my best thanksgiving ever.

Ok here's our story at the Mumbai consulate on 23rd Friday...

My Husband reached the consulate at 6am. There was no line at all but it is because the guard didnot let the line to be formed until 7am and so everyone who came just stood as big group across the street. Inshort, there is no point in getting there early because fastest person wins when at 7am the security yells out "2 lines IV and Non-IV".

Ok 2 lines are formed and at 7:20, officer asks everyone to have their appoinment letter out and handy for quick check. Finally the line starts to move in, but it became 1 line again and there was no one to direct. After sometime an officer came and advised all IV candidates to not stay in line but to proceed to one of the doors and here we go again, fastest person to break the line gets in earlier for security check. At the security counter, they provided baskets to place watch, wallet etc and to walk through the screener. All that gets done and then falls back into a line towards a counter. Here the personnel attaches a double sticker which is the token number onto your appoinment letter with which you wait for your number to appear or name be called. My hubby after being pushed back in the every line and having no place to even take a seat gets the call first. Note: he was called by name and not token number so this could be expected for you guys.

It was a lady and she went behind the glass and took 1 part of the token sticker from his appoinment letter. then the following:

1. your name

2. petitioners name and relation

3. Please hand over your passport, PCC, medical report and your wife's 2011 tax return

4. handed back to my hubby, our marriage certificate and his birth certificate originals along with the USPS package that was sent to NVC. NICE!

5. took fingerprints and asked him to wait again

This time my hubby got a seat and before he could settle down, an officer came by distributing a form to be filled out for visa disposal. So my husband told him that he has already registered online but the officer insisted on filling out the form anyways so my hubby did. But he din finish when his token number appeared and he went to the respective window.

An elderly officer greeted each other and asked my hubby the following:

1. How long have you been waiting?

2. Love or arranged marriage?

3. where did you both meet?

4. Can I see your wife's pictures? handed out our small album. he browsed it in few secs and gave it back

5. what is your DOB?

6. What do you plan to do once in US

7. Have you been abroad

8. He requested to raise right hand and to take the oath

9. pushed out DS230 II form to sign

10. re-did fingerprinting again at the counter

11. Ok Mr. Sunil, congratulations and I will take your passport with me

My hubby was not sure if it all was over so fast. he filled out the visa form quickly (which he was completing before he was called to the interview counter) and went to the counter where we submit the form and again made sure this will not affect his visa pick that was scheduled online. They took his cell phone number and said that they will text him when visa is ready and then he can pick up the visa then.

Hi. Medical in Hyderabad is done at Vijaya Diagnostic Himayatnagar (near tank bund)

Call this number 040-29806789. You must take appoinment with them before you go. Just call them and ask.

Why did they ask your husband your TAX RETURN haven"t you already submitted to NVC along with the AOS Package ? and same about the PCC you must have submitted already right to NVC ???

Our case was filed in 2010 under F2A category. This August I got my citizenship and upgraded our case to IR1. So my tax return submitted to NVC is of 2010. We never submitted PCC because my husband worked on a cruise ship and was unable to get PCC so we had submitted a letter to NVC to excuse PCC until interview. Hope I was able to answer your query.

Hi, I was interviewed on 8th November 2012 for my k-1 visa..one document was missing which they ask to me to submit at my local VFS office..I submitted that on 15th nov..its 24th nov today and I have yet not received my passport stamped or any email asking me to collect my passport from the local vfs office.. Please help..is this delay normal..can i verify my status in detail..

I am back to Hyderabad from Mumbai.

The interview was very cooooooooolllllllllllll...................

No hassles. A very few questions.

No need to worry.

My suggestions are dn't go early in the morning. Take enough of time and be there at 6.30am.

Token doesnt paly any role in having once intervw early.

Take marriage photo album, if u guys went to any honey moon take those photos( because they have asked me!!!) , skype and phone logs. No need of skype screen shots( its a burden to carry them).

Just know when ur spouse has got citizenship year and when did they move to US for first time.

very simple and cool.

No need to worry.

Dear All - My wife's Visa was approved last Friday after an interview which was quite a grilling according to her (15 min, this is second marriage for both of us). She paid Rs. 300 at Express Service Desk for passport delivery where she was told that it will be sent to home address. But US travel docs web site shows a VFS pick up location. We are based in Bangalore. Can someone with recent experience comment on whether we can expect this at home or need to pick it up from VFS office?

I dont know the answer to your question but i know someone here will answer that for you.
