Hi YammySS. That's a good question. Your case is VERY similar to my case! I already have the AP and I will be travelling back to my country by the end of year and planning to stay there 2 months like you. My case was transferred to CSC in July and we have been waiting already for 4 months in total, thats why we think we will be hearing from CSC sometime around January probably as it seems this center is very delayed and they are taking like 8 months in approving GCs or scheduling interviews.

For what I have read here in VJ from others its that you can be out of US for at least 3-4 months.

In my case, I'm planning to go to USCIS infopass appointment to inform them about my trip and the length of it just so they know. Like you, I have many important thing to finish in my country (passport renewal, medical, family issues, etc).

Dont know if my answered helped you a little. Lets see what others say about this  Good luck.

They won't tell you anything you don't already know - I don't see a reason to waste their time and yours on this. Just make sure someone is watching your mail for any USCIS letters while you're away.

Spouse-based AOS from out-of-status H-1B, May - Aug 2012
