Hello VJ family,

I am hoping that some one would help me to answer this question:

I have sponsered 2 friends who immigrated to US, the problem is that I did not declare that in I-130. Now, while I was filing for I-864 I came across with a question that ask about how many people I sponsered. Should say that I sponsered two immigrants or should I stick to my first answer in I-130.

Being a sponsor is different that petitioning for someone. Section D of the I-130 is asking about people for whom you've submitted an immigrant petition. The I-864 deals with sponsorship.

If you submitted an I-864 as a joint sponsor for other immigrants then you include those persons on this I-864 line 21f. If either of those persons has become a citizen, been here and working for 10 years, or given up their green card then you would not include them. See page 7 of the I-864 instructions for a complete explanation.
