Hey, we are on the same boat. 09/14/12, NYC field office. Did you have an infopass? They were very rude to my husband when he went to the local office. The only thing he managed to find out is that they received our file on Feb 26 :bonk:

Hey...I received a letter back in January from the NYC field office to hand deliver 3 documents ( Birth Certificate for both of us and our Marriage Certificate) on February 21. The letter said to ask for officer IP and hand deliver the documents. But when I went to my appointment the documents were collected by a lady sitting at the window and she said you cant see anybody. She was rude and nasty...didnt give me anything that states they collected my documents. All three documents were submitted originally when i filled my I130. She said the officer will review them and you will get something in the mail.

Then on 03/18/2013, I submitted service request on USCIS site and on 03/21 this is what i received via email:

The status of this service request is:

Your case is currently under review. However, USCIS requires additional time to review all relevant information and related Alien files. Once a decision on your petition is made you will be notified in writing.

If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

Then 04/02 I called USCIS customer service and they read this same message to me and stated for next 30 days.. I cant submit new service request. Tomorrow it will be 7 months since I filled my I130...I am waiting till the 04/18 then I will make infopass appt...but feels like it will make no difference as there staff at NYC is very unhelpful, rude and they don't care if we suffer! :( :(

I know exactly how you feel. We also submitted a service request and received an answer three weeks later that "our case is at the appropriate office, waiting to be assigned to an adjudicator". Nothing else. I think this means that nobody is even working on our case yet. We are thinking about a second infopass but considering the rudeness of those people I think it would just be a waste of time. Last time my husband wanted to talk to an i130 supervisor but the lady sitting at the window said that it was not possible and made him fill out a form, saying that someone would contact him about his case. Of course, nobody contacted him! Do you know when your case was transferred to the NYC office?

Well in December tier 2 officer said NBC transferred my application to local office in end of October. But I believe with hurricane Sandy it probably delayed everything. I don't think it was touched for months. We then revived RFe in January.....which had a appt for February. It's going to be almost 60 days since I submitted these documents and over 7 months since I applied. Ridiculous process :( :(

It's when the petitioner goes into a local office to discuss their case with a local USCIS official.
