well that was according to the USCIS customer service. it is hard to get a correct answer from USCIS customer care service if you call 3 times for same question you get 3 different answers.

so my wife went to see an immigration officer at local office on Friday, according to him since she is in US they called her for more evidence for our case and trying to speed things up. hopefully case will approve on first week of April..

I know our files were at a Field Office but our NOA2 came from NBC.

Maybe the files get sent to NBC once they’re done adjudicating. With this new system anything seems possible at this point.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!

OK, now I really don't know what to believe any more. T2 officer says our i129f has been sent back to NBC, but i130 is still in NYC  I thought they are supposed to keep these two petitions together. Anyway, I guess there is no use of calling them at all. My husband has an infopass next Tuesday, although I am pretty sure it will be a waste of time as well...

No, they don't keep them together.

I-129fs are not processed at the field offices, only I-130s are.

Hence why the I-129f exists in the first place.

It was meant to be a faster process than the I-130, but if they kept them together, then they would be processed together.

I know what it's meant to be, but people here on VJ have been telling me that they are in fact processed together, that's why noone manages to obtain a K3 visa any more. And I know both of the petitions were at the NYC field office until March 14, but then they transferred the i129f back to the NBC... Hence my confusion...

yes, they transferred it back because it didn't belong there.

The I-129 is typically closed because it has the same approx time frame as the I-130 so the I-130 gets approved, and around the same time, the I-129f gets approved and then NVC gets the I-129 and says 'no thanks'

It goes the same way if your I-129 gets approved before the 130.

There's a certain amount of time at NVC where they get the I-129, SORT OF work on it, but then get the I-130 and say NEVERMIND I-130 PATH TIME! That's what happened to someone from canada recently.

That is a confusing question left best to the New York Office and NBC to sort out. It seems that many cases with them it is one hand having no idea what the other is doing or can do.
