What does your SS card have printed on the front. Does it not say only valid with DHS authorization? When the employer ask for the authorization, what will you be showing them if you don't physical have the EAD card in hand.

Hi Guys, just a quick one, today I got confirmation on the uscis website that they are sending me my work visa (horrah!). Now do I have to physically recieve this card before accepting a Job offer or can I take a job now knowing the card is in the mail?

Thanks for your help

Alastair

There is no Form I-795. You must be talking about the I-765. If you used Form I-765, then you did not apply for a work visa. You applied for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD). An EAD is not a work visa.

You need the EAD card to prove that you are authorized to work. You need to present it to the employer before you can start work. You cannot prove that you are authorized to work without the card.
