Hi,

I'm lucky enough to have my interview next Tuesday and just looking for some information about what will happen at the interview. What sort of questions will they ask me? How long will I be in the embassy in total? and will they tell me there and then if I have been granted the visa?

If it is anything like my experience then you will be asked very few questions, you won't be there too long - maybe a couple of hours and most of that time will be spent waiting, and they will tell you that you have been approved.

We hardly got asked anything. She asked if I'd ever been in trouble with the police or had problems entering the US. A few questions about how we met and what job I intended doing in the US and that was about it. It was more like an informal chat. We were there around 2 hours most of it waiting. At first you are called up to a window where they check they have all the documents and the x ray from the medical. Then more waiting for the interview. Good luck.

Maybe you can tell me if I have everything for the interview.

This is what I plan on taking to the interview:

Appointment cover letter

2 passport photographs

Passport and old passport

Old ESTA form

Paperwork from medical including immunisation sheet from doctor

Copies of everything sent in DS-230 packet

Copies of everything sent in AOS packet

Copy of Birth certificate

18 screenshots of skype conversations dating back to May 2010 to date

Some birthday cards and letter the wife sent me

A bunch of photographs of us together/with family & friends/wedding/honeymoon

Wedding photo book

Is there anything else I should be taking?

The original civil documents should already have been sent to NVC as he filed through USCIS. I believe only K1s and DCF take them to the interview. Mind you, I did take copies'just in case'.
