Medical Before NOA2/Right After

Howdy all. I am going to be visiting my fiance in November in the UK, and we may not have received our NOA2 at that point. We'll be in London visiting family, so I thought it would be a good idea to go ahead and get the Medical if at all possible. Is there anyway to just print out the Step 3 documents and gather all other necessary documents and get it done? If I can, please let me know the procedure. Thank you to all.

I've requested that an organizer come in and move this thread to the UK forum, since after the NOA2, the process becomes very country specific. I am sure they'll have the proper answers for you! :)

You might be OK but this is as stated UK specific. You would hate to pay and do a medical, have it expire and redo.

You won't be able to do your medical untill you get your new case number which will start with LND.....

Once you receive your NOA2 your case gets sent onto the National visa center, where they will assign the case number and send your paperwork off to the embassy in London.

It's best to wait until after your paperwork has been sent off as your medical results get forwarded to the embassy 3 days after your medical. If your case hasn't arrived yet, your medical notes might be filed somewhere else and could slightly delay your case.

Appointments are easy to get for the medical, often you can book it a few days or a week ahead, so don't worry about a long wait.

Dec 31st 2011- I-129F sent
August 2nd 2012- INTERVIEW- APPROVED
August 10th 2012- Visas received
August 21st 2012- P.O.E Boston!

September 11th 2012- Applied for SSN.
September 16th 2012- MARRIED!!!
September 17th 2012- Received SSN.
October 26th 2012- Sent off AOS forms.

January 16th 2013- EAD and AP card issued.
January 26th 2013- Card received in mail.

May 29th 2013- Service request, as outside of processing times.

June 25th 2013- Green card/EAD stamp received in passport. Green card production ordered!

July 5th 2013- Green card arrives :)

August 22nd 2014- Daughter Born!

April 17th 2015- I-751 Sent.

April 20th 2015- NOA 1

June 2nd 2015- Biometrics Appt.

February 2nd 2016- I-751 APPROVED! 10 Year Green card issued!

 

February 22nd 2019 Applied for Citizenship! 

March 14th 2019 - Biometrics appt.

April 23rd 2019 - Interview. APPROVED!!!!!  It took 60 days!!!

Short answer: No.

It's not possible until your petition is approved by USCIS, assigned the consular number by the NVC, and on its way to London. Knightsbridge will ask for the LND# to associate it with the medical report that will be sent to the Embassy in London.

That said, do take a look at the vaccines that will be needed for AOS and get those done by the NHS GP and get the appropriate documentation stating you've had them done so they can be recorded into the med report at Knightsbridge. http://photos.state.gov/libraries/unitedkingdom/164203/cons-visa/iv018a_medical.pdf

Bear in mind also that when issued the visa will be valid for six months from the date of the medical.

01/27/2011 - Trevor's N400 submitted
02/18/2011 - Married
04/02/2011 - NOA1 hard copy received - priority date 03/30/2011
07/08/2011 - Trevor is now a USC - called USCIS to request upgrade of the petition.
08/02/2011 - NOA2
09/08/2011 - LND case number received, medical booked
09/26/2011 - Case complete at NVC
09/30/2011 - Interview date assigned
11/08/2011 - Interview - approved!!
11/10/2011 - Visa in hand
12/04/2011 - POE in Atlanta
12/12/2011 - SSN number received in mail
12/12/2011 - Welcome notice received
01/06/2012 - Green card received
