Processing I-130s in London

Hmmm that's strange, I've never heard of an interview for the I-130 either. Did they tell you whether the petition was approved? Could it have anything to do with being a Pakistani citizen DCF in London? Rather than a UK citizen? I have no idea.

I guess you could contact them and ask for more information....maybe seem as though you're just asking because you want to know if you require to take documentation etc.

Hopefully that's the case!

Either way that's awesome for you. I look forward to hearing when you get an interview date etc. Do you have everything ready? Police certificates, vaccination records etc?

Yay the approvals arrived this morning! Phew.

And we got a bit antsy about it over the weekend and went ahead and sent in the DS-230s and DS 2001 in the mail, without a case number. I hope that won't slow things down now...if we have only waited until today! Argh.

Congrats Fatty!!

We have all the extras gathered- police, vacinations, etc. We're just waiting for our sponsors I-864 which is being Fed-exed tomorrow.

That was smart to send everything in already. For the DS-230 do you only have to complete one for your spouse or does the US citizen have to fill one in too? I'd ideally like to send it all in once we get our sponsors form as who knows how long it will take to get Packet 3. I thought it would come with the I-130 approval...

hi jess,

Be sure to read your forms carefully--you'll see by the title of DS-230 who needs one.

Packet 3 can not come with the I-130 approval---they are generated by two different organizations.

I wouldn't be waiting to see what's in P3--look up others' experiences so you can have everything ready. Then, when the Embassy sends you mail that says 'hey, we know you exist' you can respond immediately with 'we're ready for the interview'.

See I didn't get a notice of approval from the department of homeland security, as I had expected. It came from the Immigration Visa Unit. Which I thought was odd.

Another weird thing is, it contained a packet 3 with it, but the wrong one. It had packet 3 stuff for K visas. I assume we just ignore it?? On the approval sheet of paper it said the visas will be IR-1 and IR-2.

Anyway it had all the information about scheduling a medical too and we've gone and done that. So we're off to London on the 20th November. That'll be an adventure (with two pre-school kids, and me being pregnant).

I just downloaded the forms from the embassy. There's information about it here

No, I believe it's only the applicant (the non US citizen) who fills out DS-230 since it is the visa application form. We had three, one for my husband and one for each child.
