Dear East Coast:

Get a SHOW SHOVEL to dig snow, not a dirt shovel. A snow shovel will give you 2-3 times the snow per scoop and has a flat bottom for scraping the ground. A rusty old dirt shovel with a tapered bottom is just stupid.

Do NOT spin your tires. To get out of a tough spot, you need to go slowwww. Spinning your tires will make the ice melt smooth under your tires, and is really the worst thing you can do. If you cannot move at all, rock the car back and forth.
