TurboTax said none of my husband's tuition was eligible for an education tax credit/deduction. It set off my BS alarm because I had read the rules like a million times and knew what we paid out of pocket was eligible for any of the four options. I decided to double check with H&R Block. Yes, the money we paid is eligible for the tuition and fees deduction. It knocked our AGI down enough to get a nice boost to our EITC.

Turbo Tax just almost screwed me out of $700. Glad I decided to double check the results with HR Block.

Good move to get it checked. Also when you use HR block they guarantee their work and if you get audited they are there for you during the tax off season.
