Does anyone know if my fiance can take a copy of his interview letter to the medical exam or does it have to be the original. He never received the letter in the Dominican, but today I got it in the mail here in the U.S. His interview is October 9th, so I was planning on calling the embassy tomorrow to arrange for him to pick up the letter. When I got the letter today, I was thinking maybe I could just scan the letter and email to him, then he could print it and take it to the medical exam. Would this be a problem or should I just have him get another letter at the embassy?

I would call the embassy and have him pick it up there to be safe and he can have the medical exam done while he is in the area. Best of luck to you both. :)

Hi

You can scan the Appointment Letter and send it to him via email. Ask him to go along with passport.

Thanks

Thanks! He lives in Santo Domingo, so it's not a problem for him to get the medical exam. He's going to be busy this week getting things ready for the interview. He has to get his birth certificate legalized and translated (he's actually from Haiti), pick up his police report, have his medical exam done, etc. Hopefully everything will go smoothly! :)

Hey hun, that's perfectly fine. I emailed our interview letter to my husband and he had no problem. Don't forget that he needs to also take two 2 by 2 photos, cedula, passport and the money :) good luck and let me know of you have anymore questions!

I called the embassy this morning and they said he can pick up the letter on October 1st. That's only 1 week before his interview. I'm a little bit worried that he won't have his results in time. Do you know how long it usually takes to get the results?

Thants fine he can go get the exam right after that. The exam must be completed 5 days before interview.

If he is right in the Santo Domingo area and is free to take a day to go to the medical, then take a chance. My husband printed out the letter from his email and it was fine, but that was CR-1 visa so IDK if it's any different for K-1. The worse that can happen is they say that they wont take the letter and he will just leave and go back after oct 1st. No biggie.

That's what we decided to do. I just emailed it to him. This afternoon when he was out running some errands, he actually just stopped by the embassy and asked for the letter. They told him to come back tomorrow at 7am. I'm not sure why he did that because I didn't think you could go to the embassy without an appointment. It's weird they told him to come back tomorrow, but they told me he had to come next week.
