just tell your fiance not to worry about questions... they asked simple things. like names, age, where and how you met .if the question answerable by yes or no then just yes or no. no further answer. less talk less mistakes.. make sure she have all the documents. and if shes lucky sometimes consul will just ask name and age.

The interview will be in English. You can request a translator.

Applicants who require interpreters must inform the interviewing officer on the day of their interview. There is no need to bring a relative or a friend to act as an interpreter as the Embassy can provide language assistance when an applicant requests for it.

The applicant before my wife was an old woman that had a hard time with English and Tagalog, so they asked my wife to help translate to another dialect. My wife knew enough of the woman's dialect to get her through the interview.

Most if not all of the American Consuls know how to speak tagalog..So, she can tell them she want the interview to be in tagalog..Sometimes the consuls will ask if the applicants want it in tagalog or english but sometimes they don't..She will be fine, it's very easy..I got bored waiting for my turn during my interview..

My fiancee wants a tagalog interviewer how does one request that at US EMBASSY? Do they offer local dialect aside from tagalog?

The COs all speak Tagalog and will ask which you prefer, the one we had switched between English and Tagalog in a heartbeat when he thought my wife didn't understand one of his questions. No worries.

What if you only speak Bisaya or Cebuano or Ilonggo?

This happens all the time. A lot of older people cannot speak Tagalog or English. The Embassy will provide a Interpreter for most Filipino dialects, instructions are: Embassy personnel are available to provide assistance at each stage. Applicants who require interpreters must inform the interviewing officer on the day of their interview. There is no need to bring a relative or a friend to act as an interpreter as the Embassy can provide language assistance when an applicant requests for it.
