My wife just received an RFE for a lost medical after eight months of waiting. The RFE states the Department of State did not forward the medical. Does anyone know who we would contact over at the Department of State? Which department is responsible for forwarding such?

A review of the record indicates that you entered the United States pursuant to a valid K-1/K-2 nonimmigrant visa. All USCIS records relating to you have been reviewed. The original US Department of State medical forms DS-2053, DS-3024, DS-3025 and DS-3026 were not forwarded by the Department of State.

That sucks :/ it can happen. CBP is responsible for forwarding it. You can search for other threads with the similar thing happening, but trying to find some agency to be responsible for it doesn't work, you just need a new medical. They cannot approve the AOS without it, so if they don't have it, they need it.

Try to get a quote for around $200.

Good luck.

AOS for my husband

I'm not 100% certain but I think you might be able to submit a copy of the original medical. If you don't have a copy, the surgeon who did it might be willing to pdf or fax it to you...could be worth asking.

I e-mailed the Hospital where my wife had her exam and they sent me certified copies of the documents they filled out and were in the packet given to the CO at the interview. Give it a try!
