I just got my EAD/AP card and desperately want to take a trip across the border. I live an hour away from Niagara Falls and want to drive up to TO for the day to see a girlfriend who just adopted a baby. My only concern is that I don't want to encounter any problems coming back into the US because I went up for the day. I would also like to do some shopping while I am there.

I would be using the Nexus Whirlpool Bride...don't know what to do. I could go tomorrow as I am missing home and friends in TO.

You won't encounter any problems for day travel (been there done that), but will you be able to use the Whirlpool Bridge since you'll need to be processed through Secondary?

Moving from AOS Process to the Travel section.

Krikit - Just an FYI but I called USCBP and the customs agent that I spoke to on the phone said that it would be best if I crossed at Rainbow or Lewiston as you were right...I do need to be processed through secondary and that Whirlpool may not be able to do this. I will check it out at Whirlpool before I cross over to Canada.

Thanks

Thanks for updating. I don't suppose you're close to the Peace Bridge? They're pretty speedy there, with lots of expertise. I definitely wouldn't cross at Rainbow, and Lewiston is super slow. Not to mention that they super screwed up the last time I went through there.

OP, I notice from your timeline that you note you got the EAD stamp. You didn't work with that stamp did you?

No I did not work...my hubby and I purchased a house in June and completely gutted it and are now in reno mode...won't be working for awhile until this pad is finished.

No didn't go thru the Peace Bridge as I live in Medina and Lewiston is closer. I went thru Lewiston last nite when I POE'd. They were super nice there and friendly. The IO told me that I could still use my Nexus card to cross thru at Rainbow if there was a super long wait. I would still have to be paroled but if I used the Nexus lane then I wouldn't have to wait as long to go thru and be processed.

Excellent and congrats on the purchase!! Reno would be fun.

I only asked about the EAD because it's not legal to work with that stamp anyway. They're not supposed to give it out anymore :S

Thanks Vanessa. I never received an EAD stamp, I received the EAD/AP Card after I filed my AOS. According to immigration at Lewiston, this card is new so I guess that I am a bit confused by your last post refering to the stamp. Can you please clarify what you mean? Thanks, Moe
