We are past the Processing Time date range

Hi VJ'ers. We are now past the date range that VJ estimates for our I129F processing time. At the bottom of our Timeline page on VJ, it says "If this date range has passed or your application is past due per USCIS processing times then you should consider calling the USCIS to inquire on your petition." But we are not sure about which number to call. I tried calling the number on the NOA1 letter, but all I get there is a recorded status that is exactly the same message as our USCIS account status on the web.

Can anyone here recommend a different number to call?

Has anyone actually gotten through to a live person before?

Ideas on how to navigate through the voice prompts to get to a live rep?

Will the USCIS rep will even be able to give out any information beyond the standard "our processing time target is 5 months" anyway?

Thanks,

M&J

You stopped at the status prompt. When it ask to enter receipt number and tells you the most recent status. It will than ask you more you press 3 for problems with your case.

When the operator comes online (this may be a long hold) ask for a tier 2 operator to find out if anything. The orginal oiperator is just that someone answering the phone and will just parrot words. So ask for tier 2.

Because VSC is so slow you probably will not get anything. they are at 6 to 8 months and what times you get on VJ doesn't mean nothing to them.

Don't forget that it is an estimate for a reason. Just because it says that you could get approved within that date range, doesn't mean that you actually will. It's an estimate based of everyone else's timelines and how long it's taking them to get an approval. There were a couple points in time where we went past our date range but we did not worry about it since it was just an estimate.

If you're worried then go ahead and call and try and find out some information to help put you at rest but I say not to worry and just patiently wait a little while longer and your day will finally come where you get your NOA2 :) Don't forget that the processing timeframe for the CSC is 5 months so it's suggested not to call them unless you are past the 5 month timeframe.

We know that the VJ timeline is only based on other VJ members'. But we are so excited to get this approval behind us, that we are a little impatient  Especially in light of the fact the Igor's list shows that about 75% of CSC June filers (including some that filed after us) have a decision...and CSC is now approving July filers.

I know all the VSC filers are rolling their eyes at this topic. You couples stuck at Vermont are real troopers and we wish you the best!!!!!

I'm rolling my eyes :rofl: only kidding. I am with VSC but I understand your excitement. I just wish the two service centers were more balanced with the time of their approvals. Good luck, I hope you guys do get your NOA2 soon.

I Looooooove my baby Lyn.

Yeah I also understand your excitement and impatientness because I got the same way sometimes but no doubt you'll get your NOA2 fairly soon :) There may be a couple of employee's who are working on the remainder of the June petitions and they just haven't come across your case yet but worry not, you'll get your case approval soon :star: . I know that CSC has sped up processing since we got our approval but like I said you shouldn't really worry unless the 5 month timeframe has been and gone.

Not everyone from CSC gets approved quickly. Im sitting at 7.5 months I guess its the luck of the draw.

I think you have a legitimate case for getting some special consideration. 7.5 months is way past the CSC target.

Hi!

I am also in the waiting to get my NOA 2. I am growing super impatient. I know it's only been 2 months since I got my NOA1. Where did you see this Igor's list?? I am a July filer! My heart skipped a beat when I read that. My fiance also file the I129F at the CSC. I have been praying and really hope that I get a good news soon.

I wish you both the best!

This is good info. Thanks dwheels76. I will see if I can get tier 2 on the phone.

Anyone else have first-hand experience getting status updates from a live person?

Hi,

Our NOA1 date is June 4th, so we did call them too, when we saw that all other applications are getting approved.

My fiance talked to the first person that answers the phone on that USCIS line, who just gave him information that you can see on USCIS web site, that says initial review.

Then he called again, and got to speak to Tier 2 officer, but the same thing was said to him, this petition is in the regular time frame, which is 5 months, and that its status is initial review, and that no officer has been assigned to the case. They also said, to wait another 2 months before calling them again, because they will not be able to do anything for us, meaning, initiate any kind of service request, to find out what exactly is going on with the case.

Hope this info helps.

That is what I originally said. The CSC normal timeframe is 5 months and you shouldn't really worry and begin to call unless its been past 5 months since you sent your petition in.

My hubby and I had the same problem calling the USCIS- so we went online and found a trick. When you call the number, don't press anything at all until it goes through to a Spanish-speaking operator. Then after they're done introducing themselves, say "English Please" then you'll be transferred to another operator. It sounds silly but it works. :hehe:

Try it!
