All you can do is just live your own life, focus on the future and do things for their arrival. I really try to keep busy and not dwell on whats happening... hard task but if I didn't do it I'd be a total b**** and alienate everyone around me.. no0pb.gif

This will be the longest time apart until we get married, so 4 months. I can work abroad for short term web projects so that makes things easier. But after I visited my fiancee last time (for the 4th time in 12 months) I got a little bit too serious questions and was held for questioning just one time too much, so we decided to wait this time.

Skype, Google Voice (free calling), Whatsapp (free texting), sending each other presents are the things to cope.

We basically leave Skype on always, even when we sleep, luckily I heard more do this so I don't feel that odd haha. So we watch movies together, read stories together and when our non profit has a meeting I get Skyped in so it feels more like I'm directly involved. We start every day with prayer and a devotional together and end the day with prayer and then just fall asleep. This does mean that I go to bed between 4-5AM every day and just skip the mornings but it's definitely worth every bit of it!

Packet 3 has been sent out last week, so we're just waiting for an interview date so we can plan the wedding!

16 months was the longest me and my husband were apart without seeing each other in person. It was right after we were married and the visa process was taking way longer than we ever expected. The timing/money/vacation time was never in our favor until then. Before that our 3 visits were spaced apart every 4-5 months. This has been the hardest thing I've ever gone through in my life. You have to have a lot of trust and find ways to keep the connection alive. We try to share as much of our lives as we can through skype, and sharing pictures, videos, music, etc. The one good thing about this process is that it forces you to have a deep emotional connection - I wish you the best of luck on your journey and hope it's a quick one!

God delays but doesn't forget.

Since me and my husband needed to save for our church wedding back then, we needed to do sacrifices. We didn't saw each other for 17 months after his last visit in the Philippines till I moved here.

It was a very tough. We made sure we talked everyday.
