6 months! Skype is a miracle.. Lol.. I trust him and he trusts me. It's not easy but if you both have the commitment, you will go through it well. I email him every time I go to bed and when I wake up. And he does the same thing. And sometimes, the nights are the hardest because it's when you feel so lonely. Sooo.. I call him and it's early in the morning for him!! Listening to his sleepy voice is the best. Lol..

Hi. I was wondering how long it was since anyone has met up with their bf/gf and how they have being coping with the separation?

9 months. We just deal with it, and use all resources at our disposal for communication. Mostly the phone and video chat/calls. It probably wouldn't have been this long under other circumstances, but I am waiting for our NOA2 as I want to come back for her interview. Just can't afford to hop on over to the other side of the world 2 or 3 times a year. Coping is hard, but there is no other person I want to spend my life with so that is all that matters.

What was the longest period of time you were apart and how did you cope?

1.5 years. This was the worst, but it was intentional as I was studying and wanted to be with her for Christmas. It was well worth it as this whole journey has been.

Welcome to the forum.

Oh, probably 4-5 months apart at a time. We did Skype, QQ (6AM Seattle time ~9pm China time), and email every day, . Looking back it was grueling. However, we both agree that all of the waiting and hard work was certainly worth the effort! :luv:

Good luck on your visa journey.

:dance: :dance::thumbs:

We did 7 months,Skype and QQ really helped.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

The last time I was with my hubby-to-be was in February 2012, spent 2 weeks together. So it has been 7mos, and i truly miss him. But the longest we've been apart is 10mos. Like all the others, chatting and facetime are our "love"-line... Not using skype anymore but it was also one of our ways of communicating before, oh and magic jack too. It's never easy to get away from missing each other, so we try our best to be available for communication. Like, we got used to talking every morning (his time: san francisco @ 6am - my time: Phils @ 9pm) before he goes off to work... Even if we dont really talk on some occasions, just seeing each other gives us a sense of being together despite the thousands of miles apart. Then we try again to talk before he goes to bed.... Basically, we start and end our days together... Goodmornings and goodnights (I LOVE YOU) are the most used words for both of us, and it feels great that we're able to do this, it keeps us both sane from not actually being together. Just be patient, and enjoy each moment even if you're not yet together.:)

first time was 11 months , then he came for our wedding , we had the beautiful moments and great time together, he stayed with me for 3 months and he went back to usa. and after 7 months and some days he came again here for a wonderful 3 weeks ! having fun and trying to erase the emptiness of the previous months we have been apart!!

and now it is exactly 4 months that he left for his work again , hoping my papers go fast and join him there soon.god willing.

We have been apart for 6 loooooong months. This is the longest we have every been away from each other but surprisingly we are handling it well. he doesn't have internet at home so our communication is mostly by phone, but we speak several times a day. I will be in his arms is 19 days and counting and I just cant wait. cant do anything but hold on to the memories until then.
