4 months and some change since I last visited him. Coping is hard! I was saying this on another thread earlier, but there are a few things we do to cope and feel closer. We gtalk pretty much all the time when we're both home, and we watch movies together, and we play video games together on the PS3. Sometimes, when I'm lucky he turns on his webcam and sits around looking handsome for me :D which, of course, I always love seeing his face!

Timeline

We started dating Jun 2007 and I go once a year to visit her and our little one who is 4 years old. It took us 3 years to get her annulment paperwork and annulment done and we filed in Feb of this year. I went and visited her and the Little one in Jun to celebrate the little ones birthday.

We talk to each other 2 a day for about and 1-1 1/2 hours each time and have been doing this ever since we met.

I find that communications is a must in order to have a great relationship long distance and to over come little issues that come up in the relationship. In the end communications is everything.

My wife and I got married June 30, 2011. I last saw her in person on on July 2nd, 2011 (I'm the beneficiary, she's the USC) when my mom and I took my wife to the airport in Stockholm. My wife mailed in our visa application on November 26, 2011.

The longest we've been apart is actually coming up here shortly. I'll be coming back from a visit on October 1st and we won't see each other again until I go there November 16th for his interview. Its a blessing that he's only a 7 hour car ride from where I live. But its tough. Right now, knowing we have everything ready for his interview and his interview scheduled has actually made the missing each other easier. Its NEVER EASY but seeing the end in sight helps us get through it. We look forward to being together every day and starting our lives together. We talk all the time about what life is going to be like, things we expect from each other on a daily basis...etc. My one request was he put the toilet seat down when he's done! :innocent: But knowing that he is POEing in 97 days, makes it seem so much better. We spent the first 10 years of being in love apart. We had no idea how to make a relationship work from two different countries. We were both only 13. But we held on to each other for 10 years and never gave up. Now that we are adults, both have good careers, we have the ability to make our dreams come true now. For so long, I had dreams at night about meeting him and hugging him. Simply hugging him. February 16, 2012 I got to hug him for the firs time. And its been a crazy ride since then. We are getting married one year after that first hug on February 16, 2013. Life couldn't be better. Its easier said then done, but you get through it. There were times when I wanted to :bonk: because he seemed to deal with it better than I did. And it wasn't fair! Haha how do you turn off your female emotions when all you want is to be held by that one person? Thats when I hopped in my car drove the 7 hours to his house and held him for the weekend. We've been fortunate in that way. Very fortunate.

My favorite saying is "Everything is ok in the end. If its not ok, its not the end."

Nice. I'll so do the drive every weekend.

My poor car is getting tired. :) I do go every 3 weeks or so. Sometimes, I've gone two weekends in a row. Just depends. But we are going to wait until his interview to see each other again after this trip coming this weekend to save money and I got work stuff coming up.

Well we were actually online best friends for 3.5 years pre-bf/gf, and didn't meet till 7 months after. However we are going on 8 months now since I left Philippines (the hardest day of my our life, of which i was so distraught that I totally forgot my dad's nice canon vidcam in the taxi XD ) The plan is to spend Christmas together thru end of jan, and taking her back with me (yay), so will have been 10 [long, grueling] months, and we just can't be together soon enough.

But like I tell her, it really gives the two of you time to really hammer some things out and work on things in the meantime, so that things will [should] go smoother when next we do meet. Always be honest, but lovingly, and be willing to listen and change, and there really is truth to the saying 'a kind word turns away wrath' as anger and shouting only lead to more trouble. And yes, thank God for skype, goodness, which lets me talk to her every day, most of the weekend, and now thanks to my new iphone, even at work and away from home. ..And also important to constantly affirm your love for them, and what they mean to you (which admittedly, has taken some time to put into practice)

Since he filed for my k1 back september 2011, and I got here on April 20 2012 it was 7 month. But the longest time without seeing each other was 4 month (january-april 2012). Skype and whatsapp were our salvation! I think that in our case love, patients, trust and faith were the key of our journey. We were so in love and so committed to each other that we made it successfully thank God! At the beginning we hated so bad to be apart, that were night when I felt sleep crying. There're so many birthdays, parties, holidays, very bad moments that we missed cause we were apart. Even though is was harsh for both of us, I truly believe that we have this amazing and wonderful marriage cause all the things we went through. Once you are together, you learn to appreciate every single moment with your loveone and NEVER EVER take him/her fir granted. This journey made our relationship stronger and happier. And when you are done with the process, and you are finally with your fiance/husband or wife, the first morning waking up and the first thing you see is her/his face sleeping, WOW unforgettable!! Makes you feel that everything you went through it was totally worth it! I came here 6 month ago and our relations is even better and happy! Always thanking God:) so hang in there and blessings for all of yiu! Never give up!!

But the most important: we felt sleep together through skype. We both have laptop and We didnt turn off our pcs so we share our sleep. It wasnt eco friendly but in desperate situations, desperate measures!
