Hi,

My partner of ten years was selected in the 2013 lottery, we are getting married at the end of November. His case number is from the oceanic region and is 1092. Going off previous years the interview will be may 2013. Just would like to know

A) do we need to submit any paperwork or register our interest yet, or do we need to wait until the day of our wedding so that we can put this on the paperwork. At this stage we have not sent anything to the KCC.

B) since we have not returned anything to the KCC and they have now announced they will select more dv2013 selectees, will this affect us at all? Or can we just relax send our paperwork the day of our wedding and wait for the interview.

Thanks so much these forums are all such a great wealth of information.

Cheers Hoisty

He can ammend his papers after you get married, as long as it's before the interview there is no problem with that, so he can do his paperwork whenever. Usually the earlier the better with visa stuff, but I have never participated in the DV lottery, hopefully some people with personal experience will come along.

Once you won, you won. They will go by the numbers.

Yes, but there are like 100,000 winners, when there is only 55,000 green cards.

Some people resign and don't send anything, so they don't start proceeding. Other people are rejected after their interviews, and some other aren't invited to the interviews at all.

I think OP will be safe, considering that their number might be proceeded around may.
