The OP was asking about the MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE not a divorce decree.

OP: Goto the County Clerk's office and ask for a certified copy of your marriage certificate. Some will let you do it via mail. Others have a central location within your state where you get vital records. This all depends on your location and where the marriage was registered. Look at your county's website for the specifics. I was able to get several certified copies the day we were married and filed the Marriage Certificate with the County Clerk. We received the original back in a couple of days once it was recorded. If you have the original with the filing information you could use that rather than get a certified copy (unless it specifically asks for a certified copy).

Good luck,

Dave

Hey guys, can anybody tell me where i can get the certified copy of my marriage licence?

Thanks in advance !

Dunno where you can get a cert. copy of your marriage licence.... I got ten copies of mine for $3@ at the King County Recorders Office in downtown Seattle. It seems that everyone and his mother wants a certified copy of the marriage license. Check at the county/parish clerk/records office, or your state department of records/health/vital statistics, etc., it varies from location to location.

Try doing a Google search, google can be your friend.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Call your county clerk's office, ask if you can do a walk-in and get the cert. marriage cert. in hand. Ask for a few copies; you might need one for AOS but also for your biometrics appointment if you changed from maiden to married name. I had a few, I think it cost 2 dollars per copy in my county so we got some for AOS, I765, I131, opening bank account, biometrics appointment, DMV and then a spare in case we needed it for interview or something else instead of having to go there again or wait around for it in the mail.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

When was this? I went in May to get them and it was $5 for 2 copies. The reason being that when you get married they do not give you a certified copy of your certificate.

Hmm.... don't know what to tell you....

We got married at the end of July. I picked up the $3/copy records at the King County Records and Licensing Office at 500 4th Ave. on 13 August 2012. I had to wait until the license was recorded. Sounds like the price has gone up since May.

YMMV

which state are you in?

Marriage license or marriage certificate?

In CA, our county, we need to get a licence first (paper or online), THEN we can get married and get the certificate(certified copy, not the original).

call the county clerk office and ask.

Me and hubby live in WI but got married in NYC. In our case, we can only get a certified copy of our marriage certificate from the office of the city clerk in NYC.

Precisely - you backtrack to where the marriage was registred/where you applied for marriage license.

This is all assuming you married in the US, of course....

Definitely more info needed, but if it was in the US, generally marriage records are kept by the county so you would start there. Google [your county] and "marriage certificate" and you'll probably get a page for your County Clerk's office with more info on how/where to request a certified copy of the marriage license/certificate (in my county they're all on the same document).

If the marriage was performed outside the US, then you'll definitely want to specify where and see if anyone knows how to work through that country's civil registry offices or whatever.

Long story short, we have a complicated case. We've been at this for nearly 5 years. You can read our story here. I highly recommend our attorney Laurel Scott, as well as attorneys Laura Fernandez and Lizz Cannon .

Filed I-130 via CSC in Feb 2008. Petition approved June 2008. Consular interview in Mexico, Oct 2008, visa denied, INA 212a6cii. We allege improper application of the law in this case.

2012, started over in Seoul: I-130 filed DCF on 7/2, I-130 approved 8/8, Medical at Yonsei Severance 11/20, IR1 appointment in November 2012.

CRBA filed 1-3-13 at Seoul for our daughter
