your fiance is under treatment, why then is she living with sick people? Sorry but maybe she can look for a better place that's also safe for her and her sister. P4,500 is not that bad. I may be wrong, but in my own opinion, P16,000 is not enough for 2 people staying in Manila. The cost of living in Manila is high. If they will only have the P16,000 that you're sending for the both of them and will have no other resources, I think it's not enough. If the sister has a job it could help perhaps. but as I have computed how much left after paying the rent, it could not sustain their needs in a month. unless otherwise, they're really good in budgeting. I understand how hard it is to deal with financial problems. hope you and your fiance could talk about it and find solution soon! God bless!

There are only two ways to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though everything is a miracle.

Please update for others in similiar situations.

We "dont know" results for my fiancees son yet.We plan for the worse, and hope for the best. P16k is not a lot. Manila is expensive. :)

Best Regards

Finding a place near SLEC is not difficult. What is difficult is finding a place that meets your budget. My finances were stretched thin putting up my Fiancee and step-daughter in a condo near by. PHP 16,000 a month for two adults for every expense that they could incur is IMHO not enough for Manila. In the province this is more than enough, but in the city the funds won't go as far. For example, the cost for electricity is about 10x more expensive than in the province.

My suggestion is to put them up in a hotel that has a weekly or monthly rate so that your Fiancee gets the DOT process started. You can use the time looking for a place. As with other responses, I suggest putting them by themselves and not expose them to others with any illnesses. DOT medication is harsh on a woman's body and your Fiancee should have a clean healthy environment while she is doing her treatment. Keep in mind that she will have monthly evaluations and have to do the entire medical exam all over again when her treatment is completed.

16k is enough for the both them if they will spend it wisely.I think to rent a room for 4500 is totally too much 4500 is like your renting a house with 1-2 bedroom and im guessing she dont have appliances with her and furniture so her utilities would like 1500 or less.If she is on treatment she should not be around sick people. She better find another place. Good luck.

For that much she could live on her own, almost . She might pay around 6k for her own place, but if she is sick she doesnt need to be around others that are.
