Didn't that place blow up in 2007?

Someone gave you a "plus 1" for posting that a foundry blew up? I can only guess.... What's weird is I never heard of that foundry having an explosion until you mentioned it. I hadn't worked there since '95. That still leaves two foundries in Seattle unless they are out of business also and Portland had a big time foundry there that we got a lot of our iron from.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Let's say it's true. (In the interest of full disclosure, I am an atheist and have no interest in procreation.)

Is it really such a bad thing in an overpopulated world?

I'm not so sure the world is over populated right now.

plus, using your sentiment, if there is too much rain in Africa we should stop it from raining everywhere ....even in the areas which are too dry. :P

I'm not so sure the world is over populated right now.

The trend is not looking good:

AD 1: 200 million

1800: 978 million

1900: 1,650 million

2000: 6,070 million

2010: 6,972 million

In the last 10 years we added more people than in the 1800-year period between AD 1 and 1800.

Danno likes his friends close, his enemies even closer.

If you can't see how the world's oceans have been overfished and the land environment stressed as bad as it is, I guess you might think a few desert and swamp regions could use a few more people. Good thing people like to head to the cities where they think their fortunes lie, because I prefer a quiet rural life without hearing my neighbors screaming late at night, or stepping in human feces when I walk down the sidewalk.

The World health Organization holds Obesity as a greater concern than hunger around the world.

There will come a point when there will be too many, according to the "experts" than should have happened already, instead we have a world where people eat too much.

No doubt there will be a max point but.... as technology produces more and more yield per acre and water become easier to clean and desalinate .... that "could be" a long time off.

Oh yea one more factor, with the proliferation of Nukes...... it won't be long till we see some mass reduction of people on that account.
